Food, Service, & Setting review: Drinks - Know ahead, this place overcharges for drinks. Rather than charging by the bottle for sparkling water they charged almost $5 per person. Seriously? no. I want my bottle on the table to help myself to & charged like it should be, by the bottle! good grief. ridiculous to see a place do this. They mark up their wine selection more than most places & charge more for 1 glass than an entire bottle costs of many on the list. Food- steaks are amazing stick with those. Truly one of the best well seasoned steaks I've had in a while. Pass on the sea bass, they don't do it well at all. They do nothing special to provide flavor & when you're letting a sea bass stand on its own like that, you have to pull it off well. They don't. It was cooked to death, rubber. And Bland. For $54+ on a piece of flesh you sure as heck better learn how to properly prepare it. total disappointment. The crab cakes were YUM, they didn't skimp on the meat & the remoulade side is good. Appetizer - choices are plentiful - went for the fried deviled eggs, GET THEM. They are creamy & delicious, perfect crunch & also come with the remoulade for dipping if desired. *side note - the free table bread is really good too, it garnered an actual 'oh my gaaaawd' sigh of delight from my picky eater at the table so you know it's worth the risk of spoiling an appetite. They are garlicy & sprinkled in parm. Salad - I am a lover of a good classic caesar this one came with a poached egg on it which broke all over the salad, gross. NOT a fan of raw yolk all over my salad. Will not order that again. Sides - Great & again offered in abundance of choices - our server said they were sized for 1 to 2 people (say what?!) which really threw us off due to the prices. I mean if a side of seafood mac & cheese is $35 alone you sure better provide more than 1 or 2 pple worth, jeez. Despite his description, they are actually the normal shareable size you get at other fine dining venue, enough for approximately 1 normal serving size for 4 people. If you want extra, seconds, or larger servings then maybe order more. The dominick's potatoes are amazing, scalloped in with cheese carmelized onion etc, saute'ed corn is yummy fresh and simple, kennebec fries were tasty garlicy & truffle-like & delish.. be prepared if you order the crab and shrimp 'mac and cheese' .. it is NOT in anyway shape or form mac and cheese. They should rename it to avoid disappointment from guests looking for a traditional flavor they may be expecting. This pasta was in a pesto-like sauce. Maybe call it seafood pesto instead. Im not even sure there was any cheese in it. That being said, it is indeed insanely good! Just absolutely not mac and cheese. The shishito peppers are ok, I've had them at many places & honestly never encountered any heat, just deliciousness. These peppers were HOT, Im not into a burning mouth so I ditched them quick. If you're into spicy you might try them though. They're saute'ed and sprinkled with parmesan. The deserts we tried were the caramel vanilla cake that comes hot with a scoop of vanilla on top, it has sugar crusted pecans which we opted out of on two of them after one came out with them (pictured), we don't like nuts and it was much better without for us so you can opt out if you want. This desert though OH MAN was it good! I would seriously go back just for that one dessert. We also had their chocolate cake that comes glazed in chocolate & a few raspberries. Great execution & classic yummy pairing. (pictured) Service - it was okay, not very quick though on getting back to our table at times, felt like the server maybe had too many tables to deal with at once. Ambiance - Opted for the open air second floor, this area was SO LOUD & very bar like, personally would never sit in this area again. If you're looking for a more fine dining setting, ask for another area for sure. Overall We will be back soon to try more...
Read moreThroughout our marriage my husband and I have been to countless restaurants to celebrate many milestones. Peter Lugers, The 21 Club & Tavern on the Green in NY (when they were operating), Hell’s Kitchen in Las Vegas, Ruth’s Chris in SC, NJ, MD, Nobu in Scottsdale, and many other high end restaurants throughout the states & abroad. Dominic‘s trumped them all. The services we’ve received here was unparalleled: it started with the valets, who opened up our doors and held my hand to get out. We checked ✔️ in with the hostess and had a few minutes before our table was ready (we arrived 15 min earlier). We went to the bar to get a cocktail while waiting for our table & the bartenders were so kind & knowledgeable. When the table was ready a hostess came with a tray to carry our drinks and escorted us upstairs. Just the fact that the restaurant sent someone to carry out beverages speaks volumes! Those sweet details! As we were walking upstairs all staff welcomed us. We were upstairs by the reflecting pool, beautiful atmosphere. My husband requested a flower arrangement for our anniversary & it was presented beautifully on display in a table for four, even though there were only two of us; that’s because the flower arrangement that my husband pre-purchased from Dominick’s took up so much table space. Once we got seated a nice young gentleman came to our table, wished us a happy anniversary and introduced himself-Rubin, and said he would assist our server so we got the best dining experience. Our server Heather- looks like a super model and provided the best service imaginable. I cannot even call her a server- more like a food consultant. She recommended the best menu items without pushing or upselling. The manager, Paul, came to our table on a few occasions to make sure we were satisfied with the service & that the staff went above & beyond to make our anniversary memorable. The food: if you think that a good steak is a right piece of meet cooked at the right temp- u are wrong!!! My husband got a Butchers cut rib eye steak and it was PHENOMENAL!!! I have never tasted anything like that!!! And we’ve have had top of the line steaks, including wagyu. The side of king crab leg that was delicious and perfectly vertically cut thru the center. We’ve had amazing crab in NY, California, Maryland & South Carolin… And this topped them all! I had sea bass Oscar style which was out of this world! We also got appetizers and sides that were delicious, including black caviar. We’ve caviar in Russia on many occasions, and this competes on that level! The restaurant provided us with a complimentary dessert; we chose a key lime pie and it was phenomenal! Highly recommended and cannot wait to go back again And the cherry on top was the incredible selfless staff that was all hands on deck! They called beforehand & the day after to ensure our Silver Anniversary was everything we’d had hoped for. It was even better! In fact, it could not have been any better thanks to Dominick’s Steakhouse ambience, atmosphere, excellence, superiority, presentation, food & of course the...
Read moreListen.......I am a huge foodie and even more so a steak snob. I have absolutely no problem paying a high amount for amazing food...so long as its amazing. This was amazing.
Made reservations here for the wife and I the day before. Day of we arrived on time and had our car valet, walked in and the ladies greeted us and showed us to our table. Our server, Rob, introduced himself and we hammered him with lots of questions to which he answered all easily.
Ordered a caeser salad, 16oz snake river farms wagyu ribeye (medium rare as it should be) with Béarnaise, scallops w/bacon, creamy mac n' cheese, potatoes au gratin, and a filet. Hands down THE BEST IVE EVER HAD! Amazingly prepared. The Béarnaise sauce I am a huge snob over, was very very very well done here! Scallops were absolutely perfect to where I actually didnt miss that they werent wrapped in bacon and didnt end up using the bacon pieces they gave me instead. The mac was delicious! The wife loved the Au gratin potatoes.
The 16oz kicked my butt unfortunately and I didnt finish at the table which was a darn shame given every bite I took made me want more. A couple that arrived later that sat across from us took a bite of their ribeyes and we watched as their eyes and head rolled back in obvious bliss. I wish I had ordered the twin Maine lobster tails as I really believe they were going to be amazing! We ordered their red velvet bread pudding as the iPic theater across from them years ago used to serve it as well and it was divine, however, sadly that was the low point for me here, really missed the mark.
Rob was constantly keeping eyes on us so as to make sure he wasnt coming around too often and bothering us, but coming over enough to refill our waters and anything we needed and share in some laughs. I have 1 complaint here with Dominick's, and that is their "floor supervisors". Now, ive read the low reviews here and saw the complaints of staff neglect and such, so I know why they are doing this, but need to find a way to work on it a bit.
This is their supervisors. I swear they have the look and "feel" like Casino pit boss's and security. Constantly staring in a security pose with ear pieces in like FBI agents, overlooking everyone and then randomly coming over and asking hows everything when you oddly make eye contact. Kept me slightly on edge like I was counting cards lol. Thats my ONLY gripe. I will hands down 100% be a customer here from here on. You will not be disappointed.
Oh, and 2 days later I received a call from one of the ladies that work here asking how everything was and if there was anything I needed. Beyond asking for a couple extra grand in my wallet, I had nothing but great things to say. It was nice to see them taking time to call prior customers to see how everything went. Just taking...
