Me and my son stopped in here last night to check out the downtown jazz fest, and then have dinner. We both really enjoy Mediterranean style restaurants. Luckily when we got there, it was not too crowded and we were able to get a seat at the outside tables. It definitely had a vibe of being in New York City with sitting out on the sidewalk right by the street just watching the cars go by and listening to the beautiful music That that was playing from their culture through the speakers. Our waitress Madison was absolutely amazing. She was very attentive and on point and checked back with us frequently to see if we needed anything very accommodating young woman. The food was absolutely delicious. Their hummus is some of the better that I’ve ever eaten, and the prices are very, very reasonable, especially in today’s climate. The restaurant is very clean. The food is amazing. There is parking pretty much directly across the street in a parking garage or you could potentially find street parking if you wish. Scranton is a really cool town to go visit for the day. A lot of history, some beautiful architecture Just some really neat things to see if you’re ever up this way and you’re looking for an absolutely amazing on point restaurant to have lunch or dinner be sure to stop in...
Read moreTrying to hit up some places in Scranton, so we gave this a shot. I'll start with the pros... It has a real Mediterranean atmosphere, with pretty cool artwork on the walls. A clean and simple place with bright colored walls and nice white tables. You can smell amazing smells as you walk in. Huge shout out to our server who was super energetic, helpful, and observant... Didn't catch his name though. Anyway, we ordered Vinto to drink (current and mixed berry drink) which was very refreshing. It was not very sweet, just a little, but perfect for a warm day. We ordered the pita gyros, which were delicious. Cons: First, it was a little warm in the place. They set up a portable AC unit at the very end of our visit which helped. Next, the manager came over and I asked what was in the gyro. She pronounced it wrong, which killed the vibe a little bit. She said it had lamb mixed with beef, so it isn't pure lamb. I asked if it had any veggies in it, she said no. But it did. Anyway, it was delicious!
They forgot to charge us for our drinks, so it was a...
Read moreThe Garden is now one of our absolute favorite restaurants in Scranton after an incredible recent visit. We started off the night by sharing their hummus and pita which we loved! Everything we tried throughout the evening was very flavorful and tasted amazing - from the salads to the falafels and grape leaves, the ingredients tasted remarkably fresh. The service also stood out for being welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu options. To finish our meal on a special note, we were fortunate to enjoy the cheese baklava, which the owner himself makes from scratch and is only served a few times a year. Taking over 48 hours to prepare, the baklava was a sweet and crispy delight. We can't wait to return to enjoy another wonderful evening out. This cozy restaurant truly stands out as a fantastic addition to the Scranton dining scene that we happily recommend to anyone looking...
