I went here when I was at the shore last for my birthday with my 2 best friends and we did not have a good experience. When we got there the hostess brought us to the table and asked if we wanted our umbrella up since we were sitting outside. We said yes but she said "ok, ask your server because I don't know how to do that". Great start! Our server comes over and he was nice, we all put in our order for drinks and our food orders. I ordered the chicken tenders, my best friend ordered a piece of pizza and her bf ordered something with fish I don't remember. I had just turned 21 and decided to order a drink a bit after we got the drinks we had already ordered. Our waiter came back over and I ordered the closest thing to a Pina colada, some kind of tropical frozen drink and as he was putting it in he stopped and said that he accidentally put my drink on the table behind us tab and they paid for it. So then he had to speak to them and get it all figured out which was like a 15-20 minute ordeal. As we are waiting the food runner comes over to our table with a chicken sandwich. None of us ordered a chicken sandwich. Our server is busy with the other table situation and the food runner was trying to get his attention but couldn't, so he put it on the empty table next to us and it sat there for like 30 minutes. We realized that he probably put in the wrong item. So when he came back over, he clarified the drink I had ordered, told him about the chicken sandwich thing and he literally said "I just saw a chicken something (on his devise) and clicked it" (sir be so fr with me rn) and said that he "needed a joint" (we all do at this point) and said our food would be out soon. He brings over my drink which was half melted so I bet it had been sitting at the bar the whole time. Then he brings over my chicken tenders and says "don't hate me, but did you guys order anything else"... (I have no words at this point. There are 3 of us and only one with food. Context clues my guy, CONTEXT. CLUES.) So we remind him what the other 2 ordered and he said that the pizza had gone through but not what my other friend ordered. The pizza gets brought out and by the time the other order gets brought out we are almost completely done. My best friend orders another piece of pizza which again took forever to come out for some reason. I literally felt like we were never leaving this restaurant! We had been there for so long and just issue after issue. When we are done with our food we ask for the check (forgot to mention we had asked him in the beginning if we could do separate checks and apparently thats what messed him up with the other table paying for my drink. We told him if it was too late to do separate checks its completely fine, but he said he could) we get one check with everything, which ok whatever at this point get me out of hereeee! But as Im looking at the check to see what my friends owe me since we were gonna use my card to pay, they had put the chicken sandwich that no one ordered and never ate on our bill. (last straw moment right there) We had to call him over and he took it off, we finally paid and got out of there. By the time we left we had probably been there for like 2 or more hours and had no energy for the boardwalk. We were stressing out and so anxious at this restaurant that we just walked to the end of the boardwalk, sat at a table for 20 minutes walked back the other way and left. Would not go back here again, which is unfortunate because the food was good and loved that it was on the boardwalk, but I have never had this bad of an experience at a restaurant before. We were also very convinced that our server was either new or high... Or both! (also important to mention, no, it was not a busy day. by the time we left was when the restaurant started to fill up. Hopefully those soldiers had a better...
Read moreJimbo's Bar and Grill: A Seaside Gamble Navigating the vibrant, often chaotic, world of boardwalk dining can be a gamble, and Jimbo's Bar and Grill in Seaside Heights seems to be the embodiment of that risk. Depending on who you ask, this 1950s-themed establishment is either a quintessential shore experience or a culinary nightmare waiting to happen. One recent, harrowing account paints a grim picture of a meal gone horribly wrong. This diner describes an experience bordering on a public health hazard, citing "putrid" clams that were allegedly spoiled to the point of being dangerous. The complaint continues, detailing a "sad, greasy" flounder sandwich and a boiled hot dog that "crumbled upon contact." The review is a stark warning, labeling the restaurant a "tourist-trap" with shockingly high prices for what they received. However, a wider lens on public opinion reveals a much more complicated story. Online, Jimbo's holds a respectable average rating, with many patrons praising its classic boardwalk fare. Reviews frequently mention enjoyable cheesesteaks, fried pickles, and even "incredibly fresh" lobster—a direct contradiction to the alarming clam story. This suggests a potential for a satisfying meal, yet whispers of inconsistency linger. Other diners have offered less enthusiastic, middle-of-the-road feedback, noting their food was just "ok" or that they’ve "had better" on previous visits. The most serious charge—that of dangerously spoiled seafood—is alarming. Yet, a search for public records from the Ocean County Health Department does not reveal any recent, readily accessible reports of unsatisfactory inspections or major health code violations for the establishment. Furthermore, there are no widespread public complaints or news stories that corroborate this specific, severe allegation. The Verdict: Dining at Jimbo's Bar and Grill appears to be a roll of the dice. While one diner's catastrophic experience serves as a serious red flag, it seems to be an outlier when compared to the bulk of more positive, if sometimes mediocre, online reviews. With no official website or social media presence to offer a glimpse into their quality control, potential customers are left to weigh the glowing recommendations against the dire warnings. If you're feeling lucky, you might just have a perfectly pleasant boardwalk meal. If not, you might be paying a premium for a deeply disappointing experience. Approach with caution.
Now since the owner tried to call me out. Yes I was in there today and yes that food was bad. We sent oysters back to you. They smelled. My flounder sandwich was horrible. The hot dog was bad. We didn't eat the whole meal. It took your bartender 10 min to make us 3 drinks and it was not busy in there. Get your place up...

Start off with the service. Our waiter. Nick was very helpful and pleasant to interact with. Thank you for taking pride in your job.
First off, the Mai Tai Bucket Adult beverage was a delightful start to the evening. It was not only beautifully presented but also incredibly refreshing, setting the perfect tone for our meal.
The Sushi Nachos were an unexpected and delightful fusion of flavors. They were served with precision and tasted absolutely divine, showcasing the chef's creativity.
As a seafood lover, I couldn't resist trying the Connecticut Lobster Roll, and it did not disappoint. The lobster was incredibly fresh and generously portioned, making every bite a true delight.
And let's not forget the Coconut Shrimp Tacos - what a treat! The shrimp was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the coconut flavor added a unique twist to this classic dish.
Unfortunately as a crabcake fanatic. I would rate the crabcake platter, a four out of 10. Very watery and not much meat.
Overall, Jimbo's Grill exceeded my expectations. The freshness and deliciousness of each dish left a lasting impression. The combination of great food, a fantastic atmosphere, and attentive service makes this restaurant a must-visit. I'll definitely be coming...
