Any Seaside Park eatery offering Boylanâs premium soda in glass bottles is an icon for higher quality food and Bellaâs is no exception. Bagels and breakfast sandwiches were swell with better proportions of meat, egg, and cheese than is typical these days. Ask for the tasty consistent cheddar instead of American cheese on your breakfast sambos.
The tea selection is mesmerizing and Iâm driven to come back and try all of them.
Prices are quite reasonable and 10% less than the nearest competitor.
As little as a Half dozen bagels gets you a discountâ so I got more than the 2 we needed. Cream cheese tubs come in 1/2 pound and 1 pound. TREMENDOUS bagel selection including salt, âeverythingâ, and my personal favoriteâ wheat everythingâ was in rare thick supply. New Yorkers shouldnât expect a NY style bagel, itâs close but has its own New Jersey beach identity.
Thereâs a selection of donuts and some other pastries as well, and it APPEARS all are made on premise (i didnât ask and didnât see any signs)
Order was quickly taken, rapidly processed in good time despite a small line at 09:45 on a Wednesday in June. Theyâll give you a number and listen for it outside on a bar stool or table. Call ahead for more rapid pickup, but sometimes theyâre too busy to pick up phone so you might have to wait 5 and try calling again. (I just went there). Google maps also offers some online ordering options if youâre used to that.
To get to 5 stars theyâd just need to advertise their ingredients as organic or betterâ like theyâre kindve already doing with their tea bar.
Iâm a customer almost every time Iâm in town. Good place to hit on way home from a jog or walkâ easy to find with ample street parking. Heading south after the bridge itâs quickly on your right, so a convenient stop for those first hitting the island in either direction. Perfect geographical stop before getting to Island State Beach Park entrance to its South.
After this post I think you will find Bellaâs improving as theyâre more attractive spot than they were just a couple years ago when I first tried themâ so the owner is constantly improving and thatâs all one can ever askâ particularly for a place growing up in a town thatâs been moving up for the past couple decades.
Iâve not yet fully explored the menu but will keep trying new things if iâm in town.
Owner gets high marks for his responses to some of the impatient saucy reviews, which shows heâs on top of his jointâ in a business thatâs not easy to run. Not sure, but I believe you might see him listening to your order in the back getting...
Read moreMy daughter and friends just left Bella's after walking to get smoothies and bagels for breakfast. I come here all the time but was not with them this time. They were yelled very rudely by one of your employees because they were not responding to an order number that they were not given. The worker was calling out 109 and they were told they were order number 110. After shoving some of the smoothies and bagels at my daughter and my daughter explaining that they were not order number 109 she continued to scream at them and get in their face. They were extremely upset and scared and didn't realize she never gave them the coffees. They wound up going back and asking for the coffees she didn't give them. The employee that handed them the coffees apologized for her behavior but she never approached them and apologized. They spent way more money than anyone else there and deserved to be treated with respect just as much as anyone else. Be more selective when hiring yoyr employees as I will never go...
Read moreWent on a Saturday (this) morning at 8:25am. No one else in there. The blonde with glasses at the front was atrocious. Completely miserable, unfriendly and didnât even respond when I asked âhi, how are you?â Bagels were subpar. Only had two flavors of cream cheese. What a joke. Tried to order a coffee and was told decaf was âbrokenâ. Ordered a latte instead and the coffee girl literally didnât even start to make it until the bagels were made and order was paid for- so we stood there for almost 15 mins for 2 bagels and one coffee (that was awful) while they had three people working and no other customers When I went to pay, the girl struggled to open the coin wrappers as I stood there awkwardly waiting for the change. Why the change wasnât open and ready to go on a Saturday morning in season is beyond me. The whole experience was unpleasant and annoying. Wonât be returning and do...
