My fiancé and I went here for dinner because we haven’t been to the beach since we first got together. We were very excited to come into this place again. We were so upset that this place has changed for the worse. Firstly the waitress took 25 minutes to get out drinks. We were one of two tables there. Which my lemon drop that I ordered tasted like (not exaggerating) gasoline. I had to ask for some Lemonade to put into my drink which they charged me for. My fiancé got fish and chips and I got a pulled pork sandwich. The fish and chips were under cooked and mostly batter. The fries were cold and soggy. The pulled pork sandwich was cold, undercooked and old. The bbq sauce tasted like burnt ketchup. And my salad was wilted and the ranch had chunks in it like it was moldy. I went to the waitress to see if I could pay for just the drinks and she charged me 11:50 for two drinks. One was a beer on happy hour. And was my lemon drop with the lemonade. She stated to me that we would have to pay for four meals plus the drinks because we ordered them. I stated to her that I didn’t eat any of it and I’m only paying for the drinks even though both of us did not finish our drinks because they were so nasty. The restaurant was dirty. And the staff was unwelcoming and some of them needed to bathe which the people who needed to bathe we’re making our food. I will never go here again. Oh and the moment I walked outside of this restaurant both of us vomited. I would like to get my refund back but the waitress was not helpful and made me feel like I was Either cheap or lower than her. I will never...
Read moresam’s was our favorite hole-in-the-wall during our visit to seaside, we actually came back a couple times to sit in the lounge with Androtti (hope that’s spelt right), Andy for short ! their clam chowder is so tasty, and the perfect consistency — not too thick, but still rich. I was also highly impressed by their house-battered halibut & chips (hoping that by the next time we visit you will have incorporated english-style chips into that dish to make it even better!).. point is, this place has killer food !! oh, and one of very few bars that actually stocks QUALITY ginger beer, honestly I had the best gin mule that I’ve ever had at sam’s !! very relaxed atmosphere, felt super comfortable the whole time, great service, great food, and really awesome crowd for bar conversation ! oh, and I noticed they had a main dining room to accommodate families, and those who wanted to have a nice sit down meal, so they really covered all bases at this establishment.
thank you guys for making us feel so welcome in seaside, definitely recommending you in the future &...
Read moreI've been going to Sam's since childhood, and now while bringing my own child in on Friday, the experience was very different.
It had been about 3 years or so since I'd been to Seaside, so I hadn't been since the change in ownership. I was a little worried when I saw the new signs, but inside didn't look much different (except clean with new lights!).
The waitress (I'm so sorry I didn't catch her name, but she said she's s been there 20 years and I remembered her from her musical notes, was so nice and told us about the change after I was noticeably excited about all of the new changes. (Delicious gluten-free buns and the clams are made in wine now instead of beer!!!!) She was so helpful and quick helping me get my little one settled and happy and had just made fresh coffee, so extra bonus!
I had the cheeseburger and it was fantastic. Their fries are as greasy as ever and soooo good and everything was just the perfect meal to end our short trip before having to head home.
With so many places closing, I'm so happy to see...
