Frankly, the "Our Story" and the hype about the restaurant had my expectations real high. it was my daughter's birthday and we decided to try this place out. STAFF: The staff is splendid, attentive to the point of non- invasive. Except the wait person was a bit cheeky and somewhat conceited calling me " dear". FOOD: We shared a serving of mussels. The wait person asked if we wanted bread with it and we said Yes. The bread was good. ( They claim it's house made). I think ( I may be wrong here)the stock used in the mussels was possibly beef stock and anyways, the stock was iffy, somewhat characterless/ run of the mill. Nothing fancy. We used to get mussels while living in Sydney/Australia at sophisticated pub and it was fantastic. Usually the mussels came with French fries..Anyways, the mussels seemed fresh and juicy. PIZZA: The wood fired, Neapolitan pizza was super. The food menu is real small. It's probably aiming at folks wanting a drink and a pizza. Great for weekdays. For weekends, I want something with an oomph, a bit of food adventure. Will I go there again, perhaps not. Is it worth going at least once, certainly yes...for Pizza. Ah, and the only dessert we wanted- Chocolate Hazelnut cake, they were out.

Unfortunately I must this place had terrible customer service ! Only receiving 2 stars based on the pizza being decent . Let me paint a picture to help give you an understanding about the experience. For starters I live in Florida only visiting for a few days to bring my daughter to visit UofW . We google best place to eat near by this one was the easiest to get . Parking of course terrible no where to park . We finally found a spot walked a few blocks to find out you need a reservation. There was literally one couple seated at a table inside . Ok It’s fine no biggie they seat us outside . Please note sitting in the front out side is so loud with traffic . Moving along to the terrible customer service. Our waitress was so rude . Like it was an inconvenience that we came and we interrupted her day . I asked a simple question well I thought was simple I didn’t see pasta on the menu but servers meatballs . She looks at me and was condescending how they don’t serve pasta and walks away . Please note I’m an overly kind person I’m the person who asks how you’re before you ask my order or anything because I care . So that’s how I stared this exchange with hey how’s your day going . “Would you like a drink “ as I look for non alcoholic menu she snatched the paper menu and points to it …. UMMMM idk if this is how you handle you self here in Washington. But definitely not ok ! We placed the order and she was snotty . My daughter said perhaps she just has problem with black women as she was friendly to the Caucasian women behind us . So we asked to have to go and once again she rude and we left. Paid the over priced bill and ate in the car. My point to this very long rant is remembering kindness goes along . We all have bad days but don’t take your hate and negativity out on people . Especially When You provide a service it’s important that when some is using their hard earned money please remember that money people come and spend is how you get paid how that business succeeds so stop treating people like it was such an inconvenience that we came. We didn’t deserve to be...

The food is good, but this was the weirdest and probably worst service experience I’ve had at a restaurant. We came for dinner for the first time, and our waiter (I don’t know their name, but they had short blue hair) made some unsolicited recommendations for how much food to order, which seemed helpful. However, when we ordered, they started making skeptical, judgmental comments about our order. First, they tried to convince us to order something else instead of what we wanted (we couldn’t because of my partner’s dietary restrictions, but we also just didn’t want to!). Then, when we politely said we were sticking to our original choice, they started making exaggerated skeptical comments about the amount of food we were ordering “you’re doing two pizzas AND a side dish?”, as if we were ordering way too much food for their liking. They then tried to convince us to just get one and then see if we wanted another one later. We were ordering a perfectly normal amount of food, and it was strange to feel so judged. I feel very lucky that I don’t have major body image issues or a history of eating disorders, because I can’t even imagine how upsetting that would have been if I did. It just felt like judgment and scorn out of absolutely nowhere, especially since we ordered what seemed to be the standard amount of food based on other two-tops. I feel bad for calling out a specific waiter, but this felt so insensitive and unfounded that I want to make sure...

We went here for the first time for a family birthday outing coming over from Vashon. First dining outing post covid. We were all very excited to get out. I just this place from reviews. It turned out to be a terrible experience. Mostly for the service, but also for the food. 3 pizzas and they were all burned. I understand that this place sells their pizzas as slightly "charred" but these pizzas were almost all black on the bottom and tasted like eating charcoal. Our server was terrible. There were only 6 tables in the entire place and two servers. But our server was grumpy, poor energy, took forever to get service, didn't do check backs. Never once checked to see if we were happy with the meal. When we asked about specials, she said, yep they are on the board over there but didn't tell us what was there. I had to get up and walk across the restaurant and read. When we inquired about salads, she pointed to the menu, didn't describe anything, and I said, isn't there one on the board too? She said yes. Nothing further. I ordered a $60 bottle of wine. She took away the cork and when I asked for it she went to the back and stuck a different one in from a different bottle. It was all just rude and unhelpful. Out of the hundreds of amazing restaurants in Seattle, I am very bummed this was our choice for a family...
