The atmosphere at Bowriders is amazing and it's a wonderful place to get cheap drinks and enjoy a nice sunset on the water. I think that they have one of the best views and waterfront properties in all of Seattle.
BUT - I've been here several times, brought out-of-town guests, but the one consistent problem seems to be their posted hours. I've visited myself on two separate occasions, bringing other guests, when they say that they're open - have even posted their hours on Instagram/Facebook, only to arrive for them to be closed for a private party. I'd love to have a private party there myself - but please, please, update your website and social media if you're going to be closed for an event during your regular business hours. It's incredibly infuriating to drive across town only to find them closed. Also, they never answer their phones when I've called to confirm their hours.
It's a wonderful atmosphere if you're able to find them open, but have a back-up plan if you try to go. I know y'all are active on your social media channels and website - so please update it with the correct hours and closings to save myself and others the headache of making...
Read moreThe best view in Seattle - close up to the lake and boats with the entire Seattle skyline in the horizon. The atmosphere is warm, cheerful and relaxed, equal parts due to the attentive friendly staff, the hidden location, and the widely spaced tables. The food is simple and the highest quality, with the most reasonable prices in Seattle. Customers order their food at the counter, but the service could not be beat. We ordered a very reasonably priced carafe of rose. When the host noticed there was only 1/2 left, he gave us the rose and a good bottle of viognier for the price of the carafe and brought us dessert on the house. The outdoor patio is lovely. It is screened in and heated, comfortable in the rain and cold. As much as I would like to keep this gem under the radar, it deserves great kudus and countless...
Read moreWe knew it was there, on a friends recommendation, so we followed the somewhat hidden, path down and were well rewarded, not only with a perfect view of Seattle and Lake Union, but also some delicious hearty fare. We split the salmon tacos, smoked chicken caesar, and pulled pork sandwich, I had a lovely glass of Pinot Gris and my friend a root beer. As seasoned Seattlites we braved the cooling temperature as the sun was setting, but so happy to be outside in such a beautiful space and served such good food with such warmth (but we could have gone in to the enclosed and much warmer porch.) We were even brought some complimentary chocolate peanut butter cookies that were still warm...so much better than a cherry! Can't wait to go back for duck dodge Tuesdays this summer!...Oh yea, they also have a dock for all...
