I was researching Thai restaurants in the Seattle area and landed on this one awhile back. Finally decided to try it on one Sunday. After studying the menu, I had a question as to whether or not they de-veined their shrimp/prawns. So I called the restaurant shortly after they opened, and a woman answered the phone.
Politely I asked whether the restaurant de-veined their shrimp/prawns. I could tell that the woman wasn't a native English speaker. I believe she struggled to understand me. I tried to explain by speaking more slowly or rephrasing the question--but always, always remaining courteous--and all of a sudden the line went dead.
I strongly suspected that I had been hung up on, but still, wanting to give the benefit of the doubt, I called the restaurant back and got the same woman. In an even tone, I mentioned that I was the caller from two minutes ago, that we must have gotten disconnected, but the woman remained silent and didn't offer any response to this. Even a faux apology would have earned points for effort.
Eventually she did seem to confirm that they could de-vein shrimp/prawns upon request, but given the language barrier, I wasn't 100 percent certain that this would truly be the case. Also, I just didn't feel comfortable trying anymore. I thanked her (again, politely) before hanging up. But the whole thing just didn't feel right, and I definitely didn't come away feeling very good.
Upon conferring with others in my party, we decided that we would rather take our money elsewhere.
We went with our second option, a different Thai place that was farther away from where we planned to be, but they were much nicer and friendlier over the phone, and easily answered the same de-veining question.
Customer service is everything. Every little interaction counts and adds up. Hanging up on customers is a major red flag. Really speaks to the woman's character--very common and ill-bred behavior--and reflects badly on the business.
The food here looked good via pictures, but no food will ever be tempting enough to ignore lack of human decency. And there are no shortage of...
Read moreHorrible! I met my daughter here for an early dinner, I had her order for me. I can’t handle spice, as I’ve had stomach surgery, and I’m extremely sensitive to it. I order from Thai restaurants all the time, and specify zero spice… I never have a problem. when I arrived, the food had been sitting at the table for a while, and my family had waited for me to arrive before they started eating. I felt terrible. I took one bite; it was extremely spicy and I couldn’t eat it. I am now sick because of it. This is a big deal for me. What it means is that I now drink liquid protein for my meals for the next day or two to bring my stomach back to Ground Zero. The other thing I noticed about the Panang Cury was that it had no vegetables in it….. none. I had asked for tofu to be added, but the whole dish was tofu and liquid, there were no vegetables. My daughter had ordered some fresh rolls. These looked horrible…… They were made with iceberg lettuce and noodles. I’ve never seen noodles in a fresh roll before… I’ve certainly never seen them made with iceberg lettuce before. I feel like this restaurant is really cutting corners; not to include vegetables in a traditional vegetable dish and claim something is made with zero spice when that is clearly not the case. This wouldn’t have been so disappointing, had the waitress actually apologized and tried to make it right. But she didn’t. She simply insisted that it was zero spice, you could SEE the spices in the curry. You could smell them. My daughter, who actually likes spicy food, and generally speaking order is about a three on the spice scale, tasted my food and reassured the waitress that yes, indeed it was spicy. It’s one thing to apologize to someone and to try to correct an error. It’s quite another entirely to deny the customers experience and basically tell them that they are lying, this is what I experienced at this restaurant. Absolutely no concern for my physical well-being whatsoever! I do not recommend this place. I think you’ll find the food cheaply made and certainly not made to order and way over priced for...
Read moreWorst customer service I've ever encountered!!! I've ordered to-go from this place for years when I lived down the street, but wanted to bring my coworkers to eat here because I thought the food was great. As soon as we talked through the door, she appeared extremely annoyed. There was a total of 5 of us, and we simply wanted to enjoy a great lunch. We had a question about the menu and she proceeded to snap at us with her responses. We weren't sure if she was having a bad day, so we wanted to remain respectful in the establishment. We had a low, conservative conversation at our table the entire lunch session. When we needed take out boxes for left overs, my coworker asked if she was having a good day. She snapped back and told him he talks too much!! Extremely uncalled for, and no one should ever be treated like this as a customer. We were respectful and kind the entire time, even after she said told my coworker he talked too much. This entire experience was outrageously off-putting. After 7 years of ordering from this place, I'm VERY disappointed. Just wanted to share this story as I will never support this business again. ...
