This place is kinda...heaven? You've got a top notch bookstore (new and used books), 50 amazing beers and ciders on tap that are all fresh because this place does the business and the tap list is constantly changing (you'd be hard pressed to find a better selection in Seattle), super friendly staff, burgers and fries and pulled pork and katsu sandwiches and wings, coffee and pastries, ice cream, a walkin bottle fridge with more beer, cider, and wine offerings downstairs, arcade and pinball machines downstairs, plenty of seating upstairs, downstairs, and outdoors on the covered heated patio, and even a TV to watch whatever game is on...what more could one want? Oh, parking is fairly easy (not on the small lot, but on the street nearby), you've got Seward Park and Lake Washington down the hill within walking distance, you've got Caffe Vita and a pasta/pizza place across the street, Bent Burgers a block away...its...

Love chucks and this location will always hold a special place in my heart. Broadcast coffee is phenom, the special drinks rip and the food is top notch. Pumped they started sourcing better, more local ingredients and keep expanding the menu. The food crew really keeps this place winning. I hope chuck realizes what he has.

That said, I’m really bummed at the complete turnover of the original crew given what I know about them trying to advocate for themselves and it not being heard. The new folks just don’t have the same warm vibe and it’s pretty clear why.

Additionally, whomever keeps reporting chucks for having dogs inside can absolutely eat 16 d**ks everyday forever. Chucks without dogs feels uncanny; big shoutout to the boomer that ruined this for the locals.

Love you chucks, but how about we start treating and paying regular employees better and start taking their ideas and recommendations more...

Love the ambiance and community feel of this place. Stopped for a visit after an evening at the lake. We were shocked by the burger prices with so little meat and decided to share a cheesy fry. It was unfortunately a cheese soup- so much cheesy sauce, lovely caramelized onions and a bit of beef. The wax paper broke due to all the cheese and fries became soggy . Dish needed spice or acidity- not well balanced nor prepared with care to proportions. The passion fruit Italian soda didn’t have cream and just tasted like a watery juice with no fizz. We ended with cokes and cream ice cream which was delicious while perusing books. Come here for community, an incredible book store, a beer and Umpqua ice cream- ditch...

06/29/23: I feel like this Chuck’s Hop Shop was not getting much attention like its brother and sister’s location in Greenwood and Central District. The vibe is absolutely chilling and relaxing. The owner and staff were hospitable and friendly to us. Love supporting this awesome place 05/20/23: great place for any meetings because they always have great beers with huge diversified selections. They have tons of tables, arcade games, clean restrooms and a hidden bookstore inside. What a great place to hang around and enjoy a great time with friends and families. Would love to be back and learn new things about this awesome place
