Good folks, very average food. Rice was slightly overcooked, making it slightly mushy. The katsu had decent breading and I appreciated how I could actually see a few shrimp in my ebi katsu. Curry just tasted like Golden brand curry, nothing standout. Presentation was okay, nothing special. The place just opened so I expect it will tighten up and get better with a little time! Would love to see them decorate their spot a little more, especially their alcove. I overheard multiple people be uncomfortable with being able to see "up" or be "looked down upon", which I suspect would go away if the area were decorated with like Edison lights and those faux greenery walls etc etc etc, maybe some of those flags/cloths that you see hanging from Japanese restaurants, help it not be so sterile. Folks running the place and behind and the counter are fun and friendly. Looking forward to trying...

I found myself wishing I had ordered the non-spicy version to get a better sense of the overall balance and seasoning.
The Nori fries were a nice touch, crispy and flavorful.
I was really looking forward to trying this place, and while there were some highlights, it didn’t quite live up to my...
Read moreCame by on a Saturday around 1PM and parking wasn’t too bad! It’s located right next to Pablo y Pablo. I ordered a little bit of everything to try: egg sando, pork katsu sando, ebi sando, and the chicken katsu curry.
The sandos are super filling and run about $12–13 each. They’re generously packed! I’d definitely get the egg and ebi sando again. The pork katsu wasn’t my fave, but that’s just personal preference, I tend to prefer chicken katsu.
I was honestly surprised by how good the chicken katsu curry was! The chicken was so tender and juicy, and the curry had the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Overall, such a satisfying meal. Can’t wait to come back and try the spicy chicken katsu...
