Decent brunch spot in Fremont? Ive got you, try this breakfast burrito in Stone Way Cafe

Stone Way Cafe was one of those spots I followed on Instagram long before I finally got the chance to visit. Known for their breakfast burritos, I made my way there on a sunny Saturday morning around 9:30 a.m. It was easy to find free street parking just a few blocks away, but as expected, there was already a line of 15+ people out the door. It’s clear the staff have a solid process down, because we only had to wait about 15 mins for our order. My friend and I each ordered the sausage breakfast burrito, a side of potatoes, a matcha oat milk latte, and their special coconut cold brew. The burritos were generously sized and packed with flavor. We didn't realize they already came with potatoes inside, so the extra side of potatoes ended up being a bit much which was good to know for next time. Towards the end, my burrito was pretty oily but that makes sense since it was sausage. Both drinks were solid, but nothing to write home about. I really appreciated that the restaurant offered a variety of hot sauces -- sriracha, Valentino's, and Tapatío -- which is essential for me when it comes to breakfast. Prices were fair for Seattle, especially considering the portion sizes and quality. The cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great spot year-round. Next time I'm in the area, I'd love to swing by for lunch -- their other food and drink items looked just as tempting!

They’re back baby!!! After two years hiatus like a good old friend returning from a long journey away, our independtly owned neighborhood mainstay is back! SWC quietly “soft opened” in the old Dallys paint store across the street but honestly you’d never know they were trying to fly under the radar by how popular it already is on day one. My wife and I were thrilled to see that most of the old staff is back and they’ve salvaged the chalkboard, mural wall, etc… the breakfast burrito was as good if not better than in our memory, the vibes were there, the coffee was on point. But if you’re new to the cafe, go easy on them as they’re getting their sea legs in a new kitchen and seem to be still ramping up to their full menu - they didn’t yet have cold brew or chai mix (no worries, our cortado and latte were fire) nor did they have several food items yet, they’re still working on live music and outdoor space— but five stars all around for focusing on a good experience and ramping up rather than trying to do too much at once. SWC WE MISSED YOU…welcome back!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Service was terrible. Went here for a pickup. I stood at the doorway for several minutes while two women behind the counter had a personal conversation. Not wanting to interrupt, I went to the other end of the counter and asked one of the kitchen staff members where I could get my order. He directed me BACK to the same counter where I started. I interrupted the two women, since I was parked in a temporary spot just to run inside, and they looked at me with this “can’t you see we’re talking” glare. I told them I was there to make a pickup. One woman asked me the name and then passed the bag over the counter.

So all the while I waited, going from one end of the counter to the next unnecessarily, the order was in a bag under the counter!?! I took the bag and without so much as a thanks for coming in or have a good day, she went back to her conversation. I left and when I got back in my car, a message showed up on my delivery app that the restaurant marked the delivery driver as ‘not displaying professional conduct’. Me!?!?! The person who was never even greeted, let alone thanked.

To add insult to injury, when I made the delivery, the first thing the customer said was, “it’s not even hot”. Of course it’s not hot. It was probably under the counter for 15 minutes while I stood in the lobby waiting to be acknowledged. You know... if your restaurant is going to DING anyone for lack of professional behavior, it should first re-examine it’s...

Home of the best chai latte in Seattle! I've been a loyal customer for almost 3 years and they're one of my favorite spots. For the chai lovers out there - their regular chai concentrate is the perfect blend of spicy and complex while also being the right level of sweet, and if you want something spicier, they'll either up the chai proportion on request or they usually have a fresh batch of locally made chai that is even spicier and very mildly sweet. Their breakfast burrito is bomb and can stretch to 2-3 meals if needed, the BLT is incredible, I've heard endless praise from coworkers and friends of their biscuits and gravy and mac and cheese.

My dad is a former chef and hates eating out because he can usually make food that is just as good, if not better at home...well, he came to visit and we grabbed breakfast quickly here one day and he went back 3 more times before leaving! He said it was some of the best food he's had in years and I couldn't agree more. You can tell all of the ingredients are super fresh and the dishes are well balanced. Their specials are great and almost always feature unique or seasonal ingredients.

Big hug to Sandra and the rest of the crew for rocking it even during these uncertain times with the Stay at Home order - y'all...
