Some people say this is "drunk food," but as an outsider, my first time experience today was eye opening!
The prices were completely reasonable. Don't you hate it when a place charges you $1.50 for some fried onion or mushrooms on your burger? Because we both know, it costs you 20 cents or less. $1 to make it spicy!? (Im looking at you Nasai Teriyaki). Dick's does 5 cents for onions. Now that makes sense.
Good prices plus the Dick's in Seattle still manage to pay their workers $15. (NOW I'm looking at you McD's on 145th and Bothell, nearly doubling the same everywhere $1 to a $1.85 McChicken to compensate for paying your workers the new minimum.)
The portions were smaller, but the quality is great for a small and quick burger joint. I think the smaller size somehow improves your experience. Don't even compare it to your McDonald's or BK - it's on a whole other level. If you're high or extra hungry, order 3 or 4 burgers, as 2 burgers and 1 fries seems to staisfy me at a normal hunger.
Lastly, the people were nice! Very courteous. And even though the menu is as simple as toast, I still had questions. And they happily answered them, smiled, and were very pleasant. Genuine.
I will happily be going back and I finally understand why Dick's drive in is a...
Read moreHigh satisfaction, low-brow. Preferred over my previous go-to fast food joint of McDonalds. I love the food here, as do many across the country, despite it only being a Washington local chain. The burgers are delicious, sometimes a bit messy and ugly, the fries are a must have, some people don't get it and sometimes they're not as crispy as you'd hope, shakes are a bit runny, but you can slurp them down fast through a straw. Overall I wish they changed things up once in a while (i.e. fresher additional onions (they're pretty slimy and watery where i was hoping for fresh and crisp), options for drinks in sealed, to-go bottles (the crushed ice in the cups makes it go flat really quick especially if i'm on the go), and maybe an item with bacon on it (what no bacon? I like bacon). But despite any faults, the people are good, the service is fast, the food fills you up (not like McDonalds), and this place will remain like a member of my family, a staple in the life of a Pacific...
Read moreI've been living in Seattle as of this coming June some 30 years plus . Lower Q.A. , then Crown Hill, now Lake City. & honestly, the the fact that there was a Dick's Drive-in within walking distance of each apartment building was not a motivational factor. Back in the day, I truly loved the taste of a Delux or a cheese burger on a late night of beer and good times when at my neighborhood pub. But last week, I put an order for ten burgers, $ 29 & Chang, thinking they would need some time l stepped to the side. I've tried to understand why, but for whatever reason, I saw over 20 customers, at least 35 different burger choices completed. It was then that I asked the young man who took my order, " What's Going On? " After a 10 minute wait, the young man stood at the assembly point and filled 2 bags of 5 each. Was it my fault for being raised at a time when customer service was not ... "Whatever I get...
