My bf and I are visiting Seattle from Texas! Unlike most of our vacations, we’re having a very go-with-the-flow and not-very-planned-out kind of anniversary trip. This place was recommended as a date night spot from a TikTok that went viral 2 years ago. We found that there was a GroupOn that said “Bar Pass for Two” or something like that. There was no other details but it cost 30 dollars and some change and it was worth 50. Since we didn’t know the pricing, we expected that it was a per person kind of set up and this Groupon would cover at least all the games that we play for the night if nothing else and that was fine!
What a surprise to find out that the Groupon covered unlimited games for the two of us (normally 14 pp), one drink included for each of us (8-12 per drink depending on what you got, we got mixed drinks), AND you get a glass to take home with you each! Oh my gosh, what a steal! The games were so fun and GRANT was the best host that we could’ve had! He was so attentive, chill, and didn’t treat us like idiots for asking questions or sinking our balls into Hole 9 first and having to grab new balls immediately.
The whole staff was nice but Grant really took care of us. MANAGEMENT /HELLO/ PLEASE GIVE GRANT SOME KIND OF LOVE AND PRAISE!!!
Lastly, drinks were great. Geared towards beer lovers but they have excellent mixed drinks. We had the margs and whiskey sour. Everyone’s food looked amazing although we had already eaten. They have amazing memberships for people that could be regulars here and also a really affordable lifetime membership. The crowd, especially on a Tuesday evening was enjoyable. If you’re done playing Duffleboard and Putt Putt, they have board games there you can play as well. Overall, 10/10. If you go, please give Grant your love and especially...
Read moreI rarely write a review but I think today I need to share my experience at The Flat Stick pub in SLU on July 27 around 3:30 pm.
I ordered a pizza and two drinks. We got the drinks and we were waiting for the pizza. After waiting for more than 35 minutes and seeing numerous people who came after us receive their food, I went to the drinks counter to politely check with the employee about the status of the food. She went to check with the person at the food counter and told us that they are working on it. Pretty sure, the people at the food counter forgot about my order. Not a big deal. I understand, it can happen.
I came back to my seat and started waiting for the food again. After about 20 minutes, the employee at the drinks counter came and told me that the kitchen has some confusion and if we would like to wait or want to get a refund. I was taken aback and disappointed. I hadn't even finished the drink but we decided to just take the refund and leave. The employee just charged me for the drinks and refunded the money for the food and gave me two coupons for 'free round minigolf'. We left without finishing our drinks.
I don't want to point fingers at anyone but something went wrong. Maybe it was a system issue and not the fault of the employees. However, I do feel that no one really cared about the whole thing and we were just told to go away because there was some confusion in the kitchen and no one wanted to put in the effort to resolve the confusion.
I have been to flatstick pub in SLU previously many times and had great experiences. Hopefully, they can look into this and figure...
Read moreDo not go here if you look young or are near the age of 21!!!
We have a group of 4 who recently turned 21, so we called beforehand to ask if they accept vertical IDs. A man on the phone said yes, and we also had two group members with Passport Cards.
When we arrived, the manager looked at our IDs and allowed us to pay for the $60+ mini golf. When we tried to order our drinks, she then said that our IDs were fake and refused us service. When another member of our group went to approach with their passport card, she said it was “the same answer I told your friends” until she saw the card and then promptly looked like a fool.
She claimed that she needed to refuse service because they could lose their liquor license. Yet, this business does not have an ID scanner. If she was so concerned about our IDs being fake, then why did she let us pay?
Ultimately, AVOID this business unless you want to be refused service by bartenders who have no idea how to tell if an ID is fake and are appallingly rude. There are much better options for mini golf that feature an actual full sized course and respectful staff.
This incident occurred on Thursday January 9th, and the manager working that night knows exactly who I am. If you want bartenders who try to play police, expensive mini golf, and a lackluster environment, go here. If not, avoid this place...
