Neat concept I guess. It's easy to get refills and easy to try a lot of beers if you varied tastes.
But I was very surprised to find a 5% "Service Charge" on my bill, on top of my tip, with no explanation given. (And no chance to see it until I got home as they don't provide itemized printed receipts, you've got to have them emailed.) My best guess, reading some other reviews here, is they apparently have a $10-per person minimum policy (which I didn't notice and wasn't told) and I was sharing with multiple people, so perhaps they noticed that and tacked a charge on without saying anything? It seems equally likely that they add that to every bill, I'll never know. Regardless, it's not really a big deal, but leaves me with a rotten taste in my mouth and makes the whole place feel very "nickel-and-dimey".
Edit: Oh yeah, reading other reviews they also charge you 10 bucks if you don't return a card. Fortunately, I read that rule on one of their numerous signs, because that sure as heck wasn't explained either. I suppose to try to add some value to this review, here are the rules that I imagine you could figure out if you read every sign in the place as you may or may not be told this:
Minimum $10 a person They might decide to charge a 5% service fee. Get a card from the person at the front, put it in the card holder, and pour your beer (don't do what I did and try to hold the card WHILE you pour, it won't work out well :). Make sure to return your card, either in the quick checkout (three boxes, indicating various tip amounts) or to the person you got the card from.
You'd think this would be somewhere on their website instead of scattered around on signs and lukewarm google reviews,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI genuinely love this concept! When I went they had 57 drinks on tap. There is a wide selection of beers but limited everything else. If you do not drink alcohol and still want to come out with friends, they have kombucha (6), cold brew coffee (3) and soda (3); there about ciders and wine (about 3 each). That's the main downside is the lack of variety, since I personally don't drink beer, or kombucha, or cold brew, but they have the option to try something you might think you would like. Every person has to spend a minimum of $10 (that's a lot if you do not drink alcohol) but it does add up quick. For the express checkout, there is only 18%, 20% or 25% tip if you drop your card in one of the boxes, but you can checkout with one of the employees at the front and they give you the same options but also a 0% tab. I understand everyone need to earn a living wage, but give some more options for the people who only use one glass, don't drink alcohol and just eant to hang out with friends. They do have an array of games you can use for free (if you give them your ID) and there is hard liquor available for an additional price. The decorations are very Instagram worthy. Do not lose your card, it's a $10 fee, and don't lose any game pieces, it's a $20 fee and don't forget to checkout or you shall get an additional fee haha. Basically do what your supposed to and The music was great, the service was good, and, overall a great time. The swings are great, but they are close to the wall, so it's more for aesthetic than function in case you love to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnique trendy spot. The swings are a fun touch and the funky box seating inside is surprisingly accommodating for groups. Outdoor space extends their seating and also gives a peek of the Spaceneedle. I imagine once Google, Amazon, etc. are more back in the office that this place will be packed. Even on a week night it was very busy. Good summer vibes and an overall fun concept. Check out games to play while you are there, user friendly card system for taps, and they seemed to keep up on restocking the glasses. I'd love to see more places like this pop up around Seattle for casual drink/hangout spots. This fun place is a Tiktok/Instagram dream, so I noticed that as a large amount of their clientele. Curious to see how it is later at night and if it becomes a sloppy place / how they avoid overserving (I think I heard you have to check in with them every 2 full pours you have). Overall would say it's worth checking out if you are in the area. Great...
