After Tea Republik's sudden departure several months ago (though, seemingly due to a personal decision by the owner and not gentrification at least, based on my info?) I cautiously tried out this place several times. There have been some improvements between each visit. Unfortunately, for the same price (or sometimes cheaper) I can get a better drink AND relaxing/socializing/laptop-working experience at Oasis Tea Zone for just an extra 10 minutes of walking over to Pine Street.
The drinks are usually just OK quality for the price. There have been several occasions where there was an abundance of fruit flies in the entire cafe... I get having a few by a trash can but really? Obviously quite dis-incentivizing to stick around. Finally, the interior aesthetic ("white gold inspirational Pinterest board") is just not my taste, nor do I think it really fits in with the culture and personality of Cap Hill dwellers. Oasis has a much comfier atmosphere even though they don't have couches and Yoyo does.
I really really want to like Yoyo Station because I keep visiting it every few weeks but I'm disappointed...
Read moreSo happy that there's a place a couple blocks away from my apartment that I can get bubble tea that's actually really good! (And with good tapioca as well cause one of the things you can judge a bubble tea place is on the quality of they're tapioca) It's also super cute inside and I love the decor. There's plenty of seating too so you can get your drink and sit and chill if you wanted. They have a great selection of different kinds of tea as well and they also with the new "foam" teas, so def try those! And also have yummy snacks Luke tornado fries and yummy ice cream. So, if you're on Cap Hill and in the area and feeling thirsty now that it's summer and all, come check this place out cause you'll love it. P.S. I never leave reviews... I think this is actually my first review I'm leaving on Google maps even though I personally check out reviews here on Google maps myself all the time. So, even though you don't know me, I'm just saying if I were to take the time to take photos and leave this pretty lengthy review then this place must be pretty good!...

Now let me list the redeeming qualities. First of all for my lactose intolerant peeps out there they have three alt milk choices! Coconut, soy, and almond.
Second the tea here is about medium strength. I got the classic milk tea and the honey milk tea. W coconut and soy plus boba ~$11 little steep but had alt milk sooo
Both with less ice and less sweetness which I think is the way to go. Tad afraid of full sweetness haha. The milk tea is a good balance of not too milky or too strong. I really appreciate having an actual tea flavor instead of some places just having a watery milk taste. Pretty solid option for cap hill convenience but not...
