best cafe on campus and the beans are locally roasted… legit, a mere few paces, tucked beside The Music Room is a cute, little 2 kg roaster toasting up those beans to perfection by none other than arizona’s premiere coffee roaster, Ryan.
i could go on about how each bean is lovingly roasted by an actual veteran roaster, but more importantly, there is a culture at husky grind that is quite truly unrivaled throughout seattle metro area. upon entering, i was greeted by Billy, who is perfectly suited to make coffee both because he has the aptitude, but also because there is a warmth and authenticity Billy naturally exudes.
i had an 8oz oatmilk latte which was made to perfection and the temp on it was actually hot. well done, Billy!
to eat, i had a vegan sandwich and the patty was made with mung beans. unreal. it was incredible and to be entirely honest, i don’t think a meat sandwich could have compared.
nearby parking is a pay lot, but there are lots of entry points by foot and im sure you could figure something out if you needed to.
check out Husky Grind, don’t forget to tip your barista, and buy a bag of coffee while...
Read moreYour can get coffee and food and hang out here, is the best thing you can say about this place. If you're looking for a barista job but you don't know anything about coffee or talking to people, this would be a great place to apply! It's very basic, staffed by clueless students terrified of any questions out of the standard script. Try asking more specific questions and wait for the blank stares. Today I asked if they had decaf and the Asian girl with black hair she's constantly nervously touching looked at me blankly and offered to put a shot of espresso in it for me. Seriously. I asked her if she knew what decaf meant and she said the coffee is already made, they can't extract the caffeine out of it. If you can get over the absolute incompetence it's a low key place to hide...
Read moreI have to second that the service is mostly horrible! The tall Asian girl with black hair and bangs is the worst. She acts so timid and scared of the customers yet she's incredibly rude if you ask her anything and does everything really slowly. Either doesn't want to be there or has a mental problem. Some of the employees are OK but usually it's a bad experience. No one has any idea what's going on and they've outright lied to me about what they could make, ask 3 people here the same question and you'll get 3 different answers. Half of them act asleep and other half are rude. They don't know even the most basic coffee stuff and you'll have to repeat yourself at...
