Why does the hotline serve day old food? the soy garlic fried chicken used to be my absolute FAVORITE. My coworkers and I would go daily looking for it. Best thing. But the last couple months (maybe there is a new chef? If so fire him) it seems that the food has not been fresh. its tastes as if it has been reheated to the point that you cannot chew it. But it is chewy -_- Its gross, frankly. And the price is not lowered and the food is not cheap. This has happened on at least 3 occasions. My coworker had the chowmein noodles today and she said they also tasted stale. So I give up. I will just walk to bonchon where I know the chicken is fresh. Sigh* We just can't get consistently good food over here. But I def do not have money to waste. I eat at Metropolitan Café almost every day for lunch since I work at a medical facility here on First Hill, and it’s always consistent. They have a great hot food bar (priced by weight) plus a full made-to-order menu with sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, and burritos. On top of that, they offer all the convenience items you could want—drinks, protein shakes, frozen foods, and snacks—so it’s really a one-stop spot.

The staff are always kind, welcoming, and remember your face, which makes every visit feel personal. Very sweet guys who take great care of their customers.

Not for everyone, but worth mentioning—they even carry nicotine products, which is super clutch for those who need it.

This was my first time at this place or any metropolitan Cafe in Seattle. I was just looking for a quick bite nearby work and stumbled in. The food was great and the staff was great and willing to ask questions. I asked to have a breakfast sandwich after 11 and they agreed👍 👍 I got the New Yorker bagel and choose bacon for my protein. It was supper yummy and the bacon was perfect 🥰 I also got a Peach Italian soda, I don't get Italian but in the sprit of trying new things I order a 20oz. No regrets!!! I give this place 5 out of 5.
