One of my favorite places to go get some food after I leave the hospital for the day. ALWAYS SUPER sweet, friendly & extremely personable. I ❤ the Coconut Curry, Creamy Peanut (their sauce is ON POINT)! My mom really liked her Pad Thai. I have been battling with a VERY sensitive gallbladder & that has forced me to have to keep my food pretty mellow (I get chicken 🐔 or veggies & 0/5☆ spice level. There's no shortage of chicken! 1 box is a VERY good portion & it's always at LEAST 2 meals for me. Whatever I've gotten is ALWAYS fresh, hot, well seasoned & a most excellent sauce to noodle ratio. LOTS of chicken! It is conveniently located (pass it daily on my walk to & from Harborview BICU - my daughter's been there for 3 weeks so far & I pretty much get an enthusiastic wave & smile from the staff when I pass by) When you're a "fish out of water", you're not familiar with Seattle, you're going through a MASSIVE traumatic experience & you're pretty much all alone in an unfamiliar place...I'll tell you how much I look forward to getting those waves! Always ask me how my daughter's doing & remember her name & that means a whole lot right now). Super cute inside & I love the colors, signage & minimalist yet vibrant decor. It's ALWAYS nice & CLEAN. I only wish that I could give them more...
Read moreArgh! I would love to give this cute little place more stars. They probably deserve more stars. The food is fresh, made right in front of you, and there are oodles of options. The fried rice is laughably over-priced, but since the serving is so large, it's two lunches - and at that price, it's a great deal. THAT SAID... I cannot - CANNOT - for the life of me get them to season my order correctly.
Because of this deficit I have recently been avoiding the place. It's too annoying to ask for FIVE STARS HOT, PLEASE, only to get back to my desk and find that in fact the spice level isn't even at point five.
But today I was jonesing for fried rice - I caved - I trudged over and ordered fried rice with fried tofu, FIVE STARS HOT - and once again, there's no seasoning AT ALL except salt. NONE. The rice is snow white. It honestly doesn't even look like it's been in a wok. If it weren't for the clumps of fried egg I'd suspect that it wasn't stir-fried at all, but rather that someone dug rice out of the rice cooker, stirred in some veg (from a bag of frozen peas and carrots), stirred in some flaccid tofu, and called it good. With zero - ZERO - seasoning.
Very disappointing. I guess I really have to stop getting lunch here for good. (Sad...
Read moreLocated on the first floor of the Barclay Apartments and near Swedish. This location does great take-out!
Parking is street only, so it can be a couple laps around the block before you find parking.
The dining area was super clean and definitely didn't smell of food. Loved that about this place, that you don't come out of the restaurant smelling like the food! And that is a good thing, this has all of the elements of a teriyaki restaurant except it's a level above that. All of the food come out in take-out boxes even if you dine in so if you finish, it ready to take home! It's definitely a smart feature!
We were greeted with friendly staff and they made sure to greet us as we left! Wow! This place had more to offer in service than some high-end establishments.
The chicken wings with sauce on the side was what I recommend. The chow mein and Mongolian noodles were great also. You get a spice option of 1-5.
Midas 5-stars for food, service, and clean...
