Excellent wine selection (we each tried one of the Duo tastings) and enjoyed the food we had (vodka sauce pasta, and split baked burrata and prawns). Overall solid, but since it’s a little bit of a splurge I think a few things could be revisited:
Service needs just a little bit of polish. Example: We ordered two very sauce heavy apps, but did not get plates for them. We also had to wait a pretty long time for the check once we asked for it ~20mins. Our server also did not want to answer any wine related questions, seemed too rushed Didn’t love the 4% added food charge that is snuck in but “not a tip”. If flat fees are going to be added, I think they should be instead of tips or baked into the price of food. This is a weird medium -We were sat on the patio and had a little kid literally sprinting laps around all the diners. This is mostly a parent issue not really the restaurants, but it would have been nice for them to intervene a bit and ask for no running & disrupting...
Read moreThe most fun you will have at this location of Purple is the circuitous route you will be sent on just to find the restrooms...and don't forget to look for the codes. Went there with my son and wife after his class at the Divers Institute just down on the Lake Union Waterfront and would gladly return for more. We were attended to by Sydney who was absolutely delightful and very attentive. Their happy hour menu is really a good value and their HH Old Fashion was very close to perfect. I gave high marks in all categories and really do mean it. I just wonder if patrons who share the "porch swing" sitting option if they get annoyed by each other when they are trying to cut through a steak and the whole bench starts vibrating? Really the place is layed out great with a metric ton of seating options. We chose to sit outside and we're really comfortable in the shade. I don't know about parking as we walked from the institute but I'm sure there are plenty of options in the...
Read moreThe renovation of this space is fantastic, when you enter you will be amazed at the creative use of wine bottles, it is beautiful and functional! If you are lucky, or reserve in advance, you can enjoy your meal at the picnic table with the large swings and really relax! We started with the beets and goat cheese. Full disclosure: I am a life long beets disliker! However, I will be ordering this dish again as the golden beets, watermelon radish and goat cheese were amazing! For the main course I had Duck cassoulet. Wow, amazing! Hearty, satisfying, flavorful and enough to take home for the next day! The duck was cooked perfectly. I went with the Duo wine option as I love to compare and contrast and pair my wines. The Pinot Noir was from 2 different regions. I have never seen this option without a definitive wine tasting, so this was fun! Bottom line is: this was a fantastic evening and experience! I would highly recommend...
