Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Secaucus

We ate dinner here two days in a row Thursday and Friday and it seemed like a completely different establishment each visit.

We had the opportunity to stay an horribly managed over priced Hyat hotel 3 minutes away from this Chillis restaurant. That is the only reason we ate here twice. Our first visit there was a 30 minute wait which took 40 minutes. Our waiter appeared young and frustrated, she had long dark hair and was serving customers at the tables on the side of the bar. She didn’t check on our table much and we had to wait a long time before we ordered and then a longer time before actually receiving our food cold. The two potato soup pictures below had shredded cheese on top that wasn’t even melted because the soup was so cold. Someone in my party had ordered salad they forgot to bring dressing and she had never gave any of us utensils so they weren’t able to eat their salad because by the time she realized we didn’t have utensils ourr entrées had finally came almost an hour later. The only thing good we got the first night was our drinks.

I want to note that all the stars are a direct result of our second visit when we had the pleasure of having a waiter, named Nia or Nila. She was the bartender from the first visit. We were lucky to have her as a server on Friday night. She was super friendly and made sure that our food came out to us fast and hot. Even our children mention how they felt like they were in a totally different restaurant just from the way we were treated by our server the second night. I’m so glad we were able to return and have a better experience below our pictures of our food that we received the second night and it taste completely different from the night before which is unacceptable on so many levels coming from a chain such as chilies. Awful experience food wise - very few times I give a bad rating for Mexican food - this is one of those - not properly cooked, and super horrible experience service wise.

The server (white, bald with beard and obese) Jay as the bill reads was so rude, I didn't like ordering any more. In fact even looking at his face.

He didn't take order for the first 15 minutes after we sat down. In fact, only after 15 minutes I was offered a menu. After he gave the menu, in less than 2 minutes he was standing on our head for the order.

Order came after 45 minutes. We ordered cocktails as well, that came just 5 minutes before the main course. When the order came, he just rudely kept the dishes and walked arrogantly. Didn't even offer us spoon or fork or knife nothing. Not even paper napkins. Upon asking for spoons, he brought "one" spoon. Just one. Then my friend asked for a spoon. He again' brought just one spoon. I then asked for a fork, and then he angrily replied saying you need to ask everything at a time. I said why do we even have to ask. These stuff should be provided upfront at the table after food is served. These are basic hospitality etiquette.

After that the entire time he gave us looks. When we left, needless to say, I won't give him any tip. He walked behind us up to the door and a bit outside and says - tip is given as a regular practice. I'm like how much more shameless can one be.

I think this is a very racist behavior since there was no reason from the time we entered for him to behave the way he did. Spoiled my experience at Chili's.

I am not going there again for sure. And even if I go, if I get this guy again I'm walking straight out...

Poor Customers Service!!!! Today 06/05/2017 at 4:37pm order online some DELICIOUS RIBS with French fried plus steak and potatoes..it gives you the option to pickup when you're ready so we picked 28 min. We were staying close by so around 5pm I walked in to find no Host or any waitress to assist me.I procede to walk to the "to go" section and found no one there.I even said "Hello" see if anyone from the back would come out. At all this there are waitress by the bar making eye contact with me but making no attempt to assist me.I walked to them said "excuse me is there anyone at the" to go" taking care of customers " they reply "you can tell the bartender what you need " now it's been 10 minutes it took the bartender 5 more minutes to find the order which should had been ready at this time. Once he found the order on the register, he went to the back got the food puts it on the counter and continue talking to the guy at the bar about a job meanwhile I am still waiting for him to go behind the counter and charge me so I can leave and enjoy my food. Never happened the bartender was so busy talking about a job no one came to charge me. I left since no one can attend me. I called to asked for the manager and a gentleman by the name Oscars told me there where waiting and calling my name.Lies!!! I spend 25MINUTE IN THIS PLACE AND THERE WAS NO MANAGER WAITRESS NOR A BARTENDER WHO CARED TO GIVE ME CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
