5-Star Review for Kenneth – Shaved Ice Extraordinaire!

I recently had the pleasure of being served by Kenneth at vampire penguin, and let me tell you—it was an unforgettable experience.

Kenneth is a character in the best way possible. He's a short guy with glasses, but don’t let his humble appearance fool you—he runs the stand like a seasoned pro. From the moment I walked up, he greeted me with a warm, if slightly distracted, smile and an energy that said, “You’re about to get the best shaved ice of your life.”

Now, full transparency—yes, I did catch Kenneth, shall we say, adjusting himself mid-shift. But honestly? I respected it. The man was working hard, clearly in the zone, juggling orders, syrups, ice blocks, and an uncooperative waistband. He didn't skip a beat. Respect.

And the shaved ice? Phenomenal. I got the strawberry —pure perfection. The ice was finely shaved, the flavors were vibrant, and the texture was spot-on. You could tell Kenneth takes pride in what he does. He might be low-key about it, but his attention to detail and flavor balance was evident in every bite.

Kenneth brings a quirky, real-world charm that’s honestly rare these days. He’s not one of those scripted, corporate-smile employees. He’s authentic, doing his thing, giving you great shaved ice and a little slice of entertainment on the side.

If you're ever in the area and want a great treat and a memorable encounter, go see Kenneth. Just maybe… give him a second to finish adjusting before you order. 😄

WOULD BE A PLUS IF YALL...

I came here expecting maybe hard shaved ice or ice cream maybe, and just decided to try it out since it's in the area. What I found was something incredible that I've never imagined before -- it has the consistency almost of kinetic sand and it melts in your mouth!

Although it seems a bit pricey, the dishes are way bigger than they appear. The ones that we got were 4-5 inches in diameter (the green one is the Vampire Penguin, the other the Almond Joy).

At first it seemed like a bit much to eat, but it's so fluffy and airy that it was just enough. You feel like you're eating more and getting more flavor but when it comes down to it, you're not really eating that much. As someone trying to watch what they eat, I would definitely recommend this to others looking for a tasty treat that won't leave you feeling guilty.

All in all, it was an amazing experience, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and I look forward to returning here soon. Keep doing what...

Vampire Penguin is a new class of Froyo but instead of getting an overpriced cup of yogurt with 10lbs of "build your own toppings" that have no cohesion, you get a light, fluffy, satisfying, gourmet treat with perfectly balanced toppings that let your taste buds run wild. Your first bite is amazement of the powder-like texture of the frozen treat that melts into a creamy flavor punch. Your second bite is disbelief as flavor floods your mouth and you're reminded of the orange dreamcicle you grew up with as a kid. The rest is gone before you know it as your friends all take samples of your snow meanwhile staking claim to a spoonful of their mountains of strawberry cheesecake, dulche de leche, or maybe even twix!
