Essence Coffee Roasters — Restaurant in Sequim

I was here, with my brother 2 years ago, I currently live in the Portland Metro and have to say this is the best Coffee I have had anywhere in the country outside of Bend, Oregon. Bend had some great coffee shops and the blend they made for my bro and I were super. (This was around 2 years ago and I don't know if the original owners still own it or have moved on either) The coffee had texture, it was full bodied, it did not have an after taste, and it was smooth. This place is not like the cheesy Starbucks with all those over sugared drinks this is the real deal, or so it was when we were there in 2022. The couple at the counter were very accommodating and it was a good experience, what can I say. I prefer the Coffee shops that remind me of Europe, the ambiance, the quality, the visual effects........very nice. We will be there next week, I am hoping it is...

I liked the ambiance and available seating, my coffee was good, not my favorite. The rest of my party was frustrated at the lack of available options. There were only almond and oat alternative choices for milk, which is not many comparatively speaking to every other coffee shop. The only available flavors were the specials and vanilla, which is fine if what you like is coffee, but for a lot of people what they like is their “drink.” I didn’t dislike my drink, I had the mint vanilla espresso special, but the others in my party did because it was vanilla flavored macchiato when they wanted caramel macchiatos and Essence does not carry those ingredients. I would go back and try something else, if you’ve never been here be aware it’s more like a big city coffee cafe than the other coffee...

Went three days in a row while visiting my friend who lives in Sequim since it’s her favorite coffee place. I can see why, since staff is friendly, coffee is delicious, and environment is clean and inviting. Had the seasonal cider too, which was amazing. Nice variety of sweet and savory pastries as well. Inside decor is minimalist, but center fireplace panel and nature themed wall art give it a cozy feel, which I enjoyed. Bathroom clean and well-kept and family friendly with changing table for kids.
