Original post, it has gotten Worse! Puny unseasoned dishes, ruuuude servers. NEVER AGAIN, this was a treat from a customer so we went, they and said Never Again!!! Original Post ; Everyone has a bad night, last night was Sawadee's turn. We do eat here often, it is usually a 3-4 star. Thursday the 19th of July was not even a one star. A half hour wait time for a call in take out order was 45 -50 minutes. Pineapple Fried Rice w/ Veggies and Cashews had almost no veggies, 1 piece of broccoli and 2 slices of Onion there were NO Cashews, ordered with #2 heat, there was NO seasoning at all. The fried Calamari had really bad freezer burn, all dried out and inedible and it was half of a normal order size. The Muss-sa-Mann Chicken Currie was devoid of chicken, the potatoes were MUSH. Again a 2 star seasoning order and had no seasoning at all. If this were our first time here we would not be back. But we have had excellent food here and so will ascertain if indeed this chef is on duty we will go elsewhere. 7/19/18 You owe us a meal Sawadee! Update, in all fairness I called Sawadee to talk to a manager, I talked to a young women who claimed I said I would never eat there again, I never said that, she hung up on me when I suggested that she was lying, So No we will never be back. And neither will any of our extended local family. Shame on you. You had an opportunity to make this right to a long time customer, clueless, really. Fortune Star in Sequim has excellent...
Read moreAs of 2025, I am giving this place a 5 star review because it is currently at a 4.3 and I believe it should be at a 4.5. This will be a bit long, but in a nutshell I recommend trying this place if you are open to experimenting with an expensive meal.
Overall, all Thai restaurants seem to have a range of menu items that go from not great to excellent. This restaurant is the same, however it is quite expensive, understandably inflation is part of this but I think you really need to feel like Thai to try out a menu item.
Previous experiences: not happy with the Pad Thai, happier with other noodle dishes, ok with green curry. Love their tofu and brown rice. In my opinion their most impressive dish is the Spicy Fillet of fish. I was weary of it because my experience with other restaurants is that it's a whole half fish - bones, skin and all. Here it is cubed meat, which is nicer. Some people may not like the large slices of Galangal and lime leaves. But you can pick those out, I would say this and the yellow curry noodles are my favorite.
I want to add that the prices on google and on their website are incorrect. For example, Google maps says their Spicy fish fillet is $19, website says $22. When I went to pay it was $27.20 as of Jan 2025 (not including tip). It can be a shocker when you go to pay for a pickup order thinking the online price...
Read moreGranted, ive only had one dish from this place (yellow curry noodle). But it was very tasty and a very generous portion, being enough for 2meals. I even reheated the 2nd half, stovetop, 3days later and it still held up just as good as fresh! Now, I am not a thai enthusiast. I LOVE thai food but i havent had it alot in my life, so i cannot compare to other places nor make a properly educated comparison on all the qualities it SHOULD embody. However, i have enoigh experience with curry, itself, and as far as what i expect when i order thai, this place hit on or above the mark! The ONLY reason i didnt give it 5stars was the chicken was slightly on the dry side. Not enough for me to complain about, but i had to be honest in the review and couldnt give it a perfect score solely because of that. Oustide of that, i wouldnt let this impact the overall star review but i gave 4stars for the service portion because they said 30min when, in fact, it was more like 50mins or so. In their defense, they were very busy and 50mins was on the high side but not quite at the unreasonable threshold in my opinion. Overall, i will definitely try other thai places for comparison but WITHOUT A DOUBT will be returning here. DELICIOUS and VERY...
