BYOS: BRING YOUR OWN STRAW
If you plan to get a shake -- which they are good shakes and plenty thick -- bring your own straw. Even if it's a standard McDonald's straw, it will still be a thicker straw than the straws at Tootsie's.
The bill for two adults was over $20, and at that price range it is not out of line to expect thick straws that do not instantly crush when sucking up a shake.
Since it costs more to eat at Tootsie's than McDonald's, DQ, Jack in the Box, or any other fast food chain in Sequim, I want a straw that equals or surpasses the quality of the straws at those places, please.
By paying more I expect more, and if Tootsie's won't give more for the customer's dollar then they should lower their prices accordingly, and maybe try smaller portion sizes with the lower prices.
Considering the faded-pink Tootsie's building has only become more faded in the 3 years since I've moved here, and the same eyesore banners have been draped across the side advertising gluten-free options and smoothies for the same 3 years, and one side of the reader board has gone untouched announcing the same message for 3 years, it makes me wonder where the money goes when prices and wages have only gone up in the same span of time.
The money doesn't appear to be going back into the business, as is proven to me by the building's appearance and their straws which fail to match the caliber of their shakes. Low-quality straws take away from the food-enjoyment experience, and I want to enjoy my food rather than fight with it or wait for it to melt.
Of course I'll continue to go when the mood strikes because the food is good though it is hit-and-miss, and the quality is comparable to Frugal's in Port Angeles though not exact, and the service is friendly depending on who is working, and it is a local business that I want to support for the sake of being a good community member who supports local business; but mostly because there are no other options in Sequim for old-school drive-thru burgers and shakes that aren't from a fast food chain, that I know of anyway.
Tootsie's wins my repeat business by default for having no competition in their niche marketplace; and it causes me to wonder if no competition may be seen by management as no reason to make the business better.
2.5 stars because I have experienced better, but for having no other competition in city limits it's relatively a-ok.

Read moreTootsie’s happens to be one of my childhood favorite fast food restaurants. I don’t know if they still do this, but they use to have 2 drive throughs on both sides of the restaurant when I was a child in the 90’s and a teen in the 00’s. They have delicious lavender milkshakes. And when I was a child and a teen, I enjoyed their Dino chicken nuggets. As a teen to my present adult self, I love their garden burgers. You can get a regular burger if you don’t like vegetarian patties since that is their specialty to sell burgers and fries. Their fries are okay. But it’s not everyday to have lavender milkshakes on the menu…. Unless you are in Sequim Washington (the hotspot of the lavender place) Also as a bonus, the workers there are always nice. And I’ve been eating at Tootsie’s every time I visit Sequim since 1995. If you visit Sequim, I would recommend snacking at Tootsies. Those lavender milkshakes...
Read moreWill not return. Very slow ordering due to lack of hearing??????. The girl at window was flip and still did not have the order correct. Food was cold, burger bun was burnt and after asking at least three times I still ended up with onions on the burger. The worst part was waiting for the "special espresso of the day" but when it arrived it was too hot! I were told they had no sleeves when I told them the cup was to hot to hold. I then asked for another cup and was told they would CHARGE ME FOR IT. I just asked them for ice. Its been a few years since I've been here, and used to love it. I dont know what happened, but there were at least four or five staff that I could see, only one lane open and me the only...
