Against our better judgment, we ate here since we had a gift card. In hindsight, we should have re-gifted the gift card. Not a single thing went right. The place was dead other than a couple tables and it took a good 5 minutes for anyone to even stop by our table to greet us. When we did order, the server entered it wrong. We had ordered an App of mozzarella sticks. We waited a good 20 minutes and even asked the server if the App was coming out ahead if time, which she assured us it was. Well, 2 minutes later, my MEAL arrives, along with the App. No sign of the dinner my fiancé ordered. We ask what's up and the server tells us my fiance's dinner somehow didn't get entered and that my meal AND the App were marked to come out first, which since they apparently didn't have my fiancés meal just meant to send everything out together, nothing truly "first." The mozzarella sticks were so cold it was like biting into a breaded piece of string cheese from the fridge. Not at all melty like should be expected. They took the charge off the bill since we weren't going to eat them. My meal--I ordered a NY strip steak done medium rare with mashed potatoes...it arrived as a medium-well done steak with room temperature mashed potatoes. They brought new mashed potatoes, which were slightly warmer, but offered no resolution for the steak. When I was about half done with my meal, by fiance's meal arrives--chicken and broccoli alfredo. It was a nice hot temperature, but virtually tasteless. My fiancé ordered a "top shelf" Long Island ice tea and I had 2 hot cocoa with Baileys. After the $50 gift card and having the mozzarella cheese sticks removed, we STILL owed $70 for one of the worst meals either of us has had. We even looked at the receipt to be sure it was right, which it was. We found it funny that an apparently "top shelf" Long Island ice tea was $10 for it's 3 shots of booze while my hot cocoa with 1 shot of Baileys was $9. In comparison to this meal, a week later, we dined at 6Smith in Wayzeta and each had a gourmet 3 course meal of Filet Mignon and Halibut with dessert for $10 less than we paid for this tripe at Applebees. We learned...
Read moreApplebees have become the simple option when you want to sit down and don't really know what you want over the years. I have had many experiences over the years at many locations. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. We ordered a frozen drink that sat on the counter for at least 10 minutes before being served to us. The glass was very warm as if it were taken directly from a dish washer. No wonder the drink was over half melted when served to us. We requested that the drink be remade. It took nearly 20 minutes for the new drink to be made and served. It was not a very expensive drink, but I can tell there was no alcohol in the remade one, which seems extremely inappropriate as a form of retaliation for asking it to be remade. Additionally, our waitress never once returned to our table until he set the receipt on the table and said he you go and quickly scurried away. She was very young and seemed energetic with the tables nearby, so I must say we were taken aback by the end of our dinner. We had intentions to order some things to go, which we had let her know initially and were never given the opportunity to do this. The table beside us had the wrong food served to them not 1 time but 3 times. One of these times, the waitress took it from their table and brought it to the correct table. I couldn't believe it. The prices have consistently gone up, and the portions have consistently gone down. I must say, although we occasionally have the craving for food from Applebee's, I'm not sure that it's really worth it anymore. Price isn't everything, but when you're paying more for a worst experience, it just...
Read moreWe had a bad experience at this Applebee's a year ago. In December we received a gift card for Christmas and decided to give it another shot. The food was just so-so but the service was great. Then we went back tonight. After emptying the first glass of soda it took about 20 minutes for the server to even notice. She kept walking by so quickly it was hard to flag her down. When she did stop it was to quickly poor water into the soda glass and move on before we could say anything. 20 minutes after that our food was delivered and we were able to get a fresh pop. It was quickly emptied but wasn't refilled again after that despite it being placed prominently at the edge of our table.
It took at least 40 minutes to get our order of appetizers and a salad. When they arrived one of the appetizers was cold. The other two were slightly warm, not hot. The salad, a full size, was in a very large bowl type dish but was actually only a small sized salad. Buyer beware: we're pretty sure the classic buffalo wings and "hot" buffalo wings use the exact same sauce. The big difference is a pepper and spice mix thrown on the top of the hot wings.
It was not a busy night. At least half of the restaurant was empty. There were other problems as well but these were the most prominent ones. In the end we had to contact a manager to get -some- of our order fixed. I don't recall a single apology being given. This was the worst service and food I have had in a long time. Our local McDonald's seems fantastic in comparison. At least the...
