We live close to this Chili's, so we end up coming in regularly. We usually don't have any problems but today was NOT a good day for Chili's.
We got the 3 for me dinner (even though we could have gotten the lunch version we opted to get the dinner instead). For the appetizer we (my husband & I) paid extra ($1) to get a bowl of soup (loaded baked potato). I literally only had one & a half tiny cubes (approximately half an inch by half an inch in size) of potato in my soup & it was also INCREDIBLY runny (I LITERALLY could have drank my soup through a straw with how running it was)!!!
My husband & I both ordered the same exact meal except for the side dishes. We were NOT asked how we wanted the hamburgers cooked & once we received them they were INCREDIBLY OVERCOOKED (kind of like a thin hockey puck). My husband ordered fries as a side dish & I ordered corn on the cob. Mine was ABSOLUTELY DRENCHED in salt (to the point where it was inedible but, I ended up taking two napkins to wipe down as much extra salt as I was able to).
Normally in situations like these, I would have the waiter come back but he was definitely MORE interested in being behind the bar THEN taking care of the customers who were not ordering at the bar.
After we finished eating & paid the bill, we sat around for about 15 minutes waiting for our waiter to show up again. Once he reappeared, he quickly went behind the bar again.
Finally after waiting ANOTHER 5 - 10 minutes of waiting for him to come over, my husband had to go up to the bar to ask for a box for our son's food & a copy of the bill.
We are hoping that this visit was just a fluke encounter, but only time will tell. We definitely DON'T plan to return for quite a while & hopefully by then they will have corrected some of...
Read moreI gotta be honest, I did not want to go here. I was under the impression that Chili's sold Mexican food, and I don't like Mexican food. I convinced my friends that pizza would be better, so we went to a different restaurant. That restaurant seemed sketchy, so we ended up here instead.
The experience was interesting, I guess. There are these little tablets on the tables with games that you can "rent." I think it's three dollars for unlimited access to a bunch of simple flash games. It was alright. The best one was a game that's basically MS Paint. What purpose does this technology serve in a world where everybody carries a smartphone? I guess it facilitates group play? The games I saw seemed pretty single player oriented to me.
As it turns out, Chili's doesn't really sell Mexican food. I mean, they kind of do, but not really. The three non-vegetarians in my group collectively decided that our pallets degraded to those of children, so we all ordered chicken strips. Maybe it's because I haven't had any in years, but they were fantastic.
Service was alright. Our server seemed rushed. Like, dude, you're working at Chili's at 9 PM. There are 2 other groups in the restaurant, and a handful of people at the bar. Why are you rushed? Also, he was adamant that we pay on the little tablet thing. We asked if he could just take our cards back. Maybe I'm misremembering, but I don't think he said no. He just directed us to the little tablet thing.
Good experience overall though. Maybe I'm being overly generous because I was exceptionally hungry, but this food did exactly what I wanted it to....
Read moreTonight we took the kids out to Chili’s to celebrate getting the new van- we promised them a ride, and ended up at a restaurant. We love their 3-for-me deal. I got a tea, chips and salsa, and their old timer burger with a black bean patty (I LOVE Chili’s black bean burger.)
After we got the apps the manager came out and apologized that they were out of black bean patties. He offered to have the kitchen make me a vegetarian pasta, but I really wanted a burger so I said ‘how about just put extra cheese on the burger and leave out the protein altogether.’ He countered with ‘what about sautéed mushrooms?’
Holy hell y’all. This was one of the top 5 burgers of my life. A thick pile of buttery slightly charred sautéed mushrooms, extra gooey cheese, mustard, lettuce, onions, tomato, and the best pickles. Better than the black bean patty, by far.
Well done Chili’s Shallotte. I’m typically not a chain person, but both customer service and food could not be beat tonight.
(Manager even checked to be sure cooking the mushrooms in butter was okay, and never acted like me being a vegetarian was an...
