The person taking the order didn't seem to understand what exactly I was trying to order. He seemed confused and was getting my mother and grandfather confused also. The price was outrageous for Mcdonalds over $20, and I used a deal/coupon from the Mcdonalds app. The food was just a mess; it disgraced McDonalds. A big Mac looked sloppy like it had been slapped together. The fries were cold, chicken nuggets, and cheeseburgers were luke warm. The pastry that my mother ordered was stale. My mother had to go back and order another sandwhich because the person taking the order missed an item. I checked the receipt, and it was not on the receipt, so I didn't pay for it, which was bad because the price was over $20 already. She went back and got a quarter pounder with cheese, so that was another $5.00-$7.00. The restaurant was a mess trash all around the fountain drink station. There were a few tables in the restaurant that needed to be whiped down. The food took forever to get out and I looked at a table right infront of the counter and it was full of employees all sitting around laughing joking and talking like there was not a single customer in the store. And the restaurant was extremely cold. I worked at McDonalds a while back this same location, and the sunset beach location both owned by the same franchise McAnderson out of Willington. I know my experience would definitely not meet McAnderson standards nor McDonalds Corporate standards unless they both drasticly lowered their standards. Some resturants dont have and can't find the help/employees to open their dining room, so they say while McDonalds in shallotte has so many employee's they can have the drive thru and dining room open and still have employees with nothing to do. I believe resturants are using covid and employee shortage to keep prices lower. McDonalds need to do the same as others keep the dining room closed to keep operation cost lower and lower their menu prices. It is a lowdown dirty shame when a fast food restaurant like McDonalds cost as much if not more than a sit-down dine in...
Read moreMorning staff member Alice is friendly, helpful, and makes you feel very welcomed. Evening staff are friendly and helpful. Drive through service is a bit of a hit or miss in regards to receiving everything you ordered. I believe it's due to the very high volume of drive through orders. I prefer to go inside and order.
When using the facilities be sure that you check that the toilet paper dispenser door is locked or you will get hit in the head. One morning I ate breakfast at that McDonald's as I did every time I came into town. When I used the facilities, the paper dispenser door flew open and hit me hard on my temple. When I informed the General manager she professed her "concern", but it wasn't until I spoke with one of the employees that I received an apology.
That same day I left for several hours and decided to come back to the same location for dinner. I was sitting in my car debating what to order for dinner when the General manager came up to my car and told me to leave. I asked her Why?, and she told me that "I had been there too long". Granted I had been outside in my car after breakfast using their WiFi because I had business to take care of but I left as soon as I was done. I tried to tell her that I was on my way in to order, but she still insisted that I leave. As she was walking away I CLEARLY heard her say ...."and DON'T come back." She could learn a lot from her employees about how to properly treat a customer.
Something good came out of that experience. I began going to Burger King which is two lots down, and I found that I liked their burgers, especially the cheeseburgers on the dollar menu, MUCH better than ANY McDonald's that I've been to. Their shakes taste...
Read moreDon't go at night because the night shift employees do not take their job seriously are all! Waited at speaker for 10 minutes. No one came over the speaker, so we pulled up to the window. It took 5 minutes for her to come to the window due to her eating and struggling with her four inch long nails, which should be against health code. She finally came to the window, and tried to give us someone else's food. We told her it was not ours, and that we waited at the speaker. She did not apologize, nor acted as if that was an issue, and then told another employee what I said as if I was making it up for some reason when all I wanted to do was order, then proceeded to ask "what was your order". I told her again that I had not ordered, and she interrupted me and proceeded to raise her voice louder asking again "what was your order".I paused for a moment to stay calm myself, and she slammed the window in my face, so I drove away. Will not be coming back to this location, because they do not care about how their customers...
