Been coming for years and was excited to see the changes with new ownership that took place a year or so ago. The last few visits have not been so good. The food is always just fine however, the servers leave a lot to be desired.
After placing our order we received our appetizer in a timely manner and enjoyed the taste. However, after seeing several people receive their food after coming 5 even 10 minutes after us we asked the server if he would check on our food. He claims the kitchen got the tickets mixed up. That’s not true.. the computer holds the entire order for check out at the end of the meal(clover system). The paper ticket that prints may have gotten mixed up in the kitchen but then would the kitchen staff communicate with servers the confusion? Then, it could be corrected in the system, reprinted, or verbally confirmed with the customer.. the server then came to ask us what we ordered aka he didn’t put it in the computer in the first place.
My wife asked for a water refill.. he acknowledged. After not receiving it after 5 minutes she asked again… can I have my water please? She wasn’t even acknowledged that time. With only 4 tables present it is not that hard 5 employees out front.. I purchased her a bottled water at check out.
At checkout, how was everything.. was not even asked by the owner. ( at this point I could address the issues we had) I know it was him because his family portrait is mounted on the shelf. Looks like we have some focus issues with the employees. Smile more, act like you want to be there, and interact more with your customers than your cell phone @owner
I don’t want to come back - she might..
Update: we own a restaurant as well as the family that sat next to us. If he couldn’t find us in the computer and had to ask again what our order was.. he didn’t punch us in in the first place. Agreed customers in front may not see how many phone in/to go orders may exist. They only see how many people are seated. Yes, tickets do get mixed up in the kitchen - that is understandable.. however, as I stated, When you have 4 tables.. 3 of which have food.. and the one that sat first doesn’t.. the 5 employees in the front of the house should recognize the delay.. even with no communication with the kitchen.. and get to the bottom of it. We shouldn’t need to ask what is going on/where is our order.
We shouldn’t need to ask multiple times for refills.
We shouldn’t have to buy a water to get a drink.
Your husband was on his phone most of the time.
The male servers seem disinterested in...
Read moreBefore I get started, I want to state I am not Vietnamese so my opinion on this place would hold no weight compared to someone who is BUT I have only eaten authentic Pho.
When we got there, we weren’t sure about seating. We walked to the counter thinking you order there then it gets delivered to your table. We were told to go sit and someone would come around eventually. Eventually took 10 minutes- no waters, no menus, no service. I eventually went to get menus myself. The menu looked good and there seemed to be a good variety of different dishes.
We ordered the same thing #17 due to what I originally wanted to order was “out” according to my server. A tip, have a white board on display and write what you’re out of. We drove all around town looking for the best spot and we were just too hungry and tired after a long day at work to leave and go find another spot that had what I wanted.
We ordered an appetizer- spring rolls and STRESSED no peanut sauce only fish sauce due to an allergy. We were extremely grateful they actually listened. Some places have failed in that aspect due to language barriers so I’ll say I did appreciate the server paying attention and listening to our orders. However he never returned to our table but to deliver the food. We ran out of water before our soups were even delivered and all the staff were busy or out of ear shot so we just kind of finished our meals without any refills or extra service.
Next, when we got our soups we felt they were lacking in beef. There were maybe 5 VERY SMALL slices of beef in mine and about the same for my wife. That may be why we also felt the broth was lacking in flavor as well. It honestly tasted watered down. The vegetables for the soup handle been thoroughly cleaned and still contained traces of dirt, I had to use the remainder of my water and ice to clean them.
I really wanted to love this place because I would love to find a nice authentic pho restaurant that reminds me home but all this place reminded me of was that they lacked a lot of what I’ve come to expect. The service was just okay, not good not great not bad but just okay. The pho I ordered was lacking and did nothing to redeem the service.
I gave 3 stars because I would go back but likely after I’ve tried other places first and I would likely be more demanding as a paying customer for better...
Read moreIt was my first time eating here but not my first time eating Vietnamese food. My review would be 5 stars for the food and flavor and 1 star for the service. I had a bowl of pho, fresh spring rolls and my daughter had chicken. It wasn't busy, I walked in, wasn't greeted and there was no sign stating to wait or have a seat. I waited and no one said anything so I decided to sit. After 5 minutes no one came so I got up and went to the counter and asked if I was suppose to sit. A man said yes and that someone will be with me. A short man rushed out, didn't say anything but placed menus and asked if I was ready. I said no, it was my first time eating there. He took our drink order which was water and walked back to make it. I was ready when he came back, I ordered the food but I had a question about a drink. He took our menus so fast and walked off I wasn't about to ask! I thought oh well I didn't need a sweet drink. The food came and it was delicious! All the authentic ingredients for my pho, I was in heaven. I asked for a small bowl to be able to share with my 5 year old. It was brought and then the same guy decided to do some cleaning of the air vents on the ceiling. I was watching dust fall onto the tables and then he decided to dust by us while we we're eating. I was over it after that. Paid and left. A few weeks later I take my mom there and I said we should carry out because service is awful. She wanted to sit so we did, ordered pho and someone skipped out in some of the side ingredients. I said maybe they don't have any today. 5 minutes later the people behind me order pho and they get all the ingredients so I said something and they brought out the rest of the ingredients. Told myself I won't dine in anymore but the food...
