Absolutely horrible experience all around, for the second time. The first time they were very new so I shrugged it off. This time my husband and I went in around 6pm, there were some empty tables, some full. 5 minutes go by, no one has approached us, a couple walks in and gets seated. 10 minutes go by. Nothing, but the couple has been served drinks. I had to flag someone down (as 2 or 3 waiters walked passed me without even acknowledging us) and ask to order drinks. They finally bring chips and salsa after taking drink order. No refills on anything, either they walk right past you without asking how you're doing, or they dont come out at all. The wait for the 2 small plates of tacos we ordered was about 40 minutes. And mind you there are still plenty of open tables. I had to ask for refills on chips and salsa, since we had to wait so long on the food. I go to restaurants all over the east coast and this is by far the worst service I've ever recieved. I was more than friendly and thankful to our server, that I had to flag down, but in the end overall service was horrendous and having to flag someone down after being there 15 mins just to order drinks is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. I'll never spend my money here again. El Cerro Reys in Mooresville is worth the drive every single time. Quick and amazing service, & food 10x better. I hate to rag on a small local company but not a single person knew what they were doing or what they should be doing in that restaurant. The owner never made a presence the whole 1.5hrs we were there. That's odd given the slow service. Not to mention the salsa was so watered down and flavorless, you just know nothing about this place is authentic. Even the white melted cheese is water-y. Their food is subpar. This place will not last long and I'm already looking forward to its replacement. Theres also 2 TVs on opposite sides of the rooms, one was off and the other showed the music that was playing. The owner needs to sell the place he obviously doesnt know what hes doing I cant even put into words how much of a disaster...
Read moreWe had a late dinner at Los Mezquites tonight. This was our first time eating there as a family. My daughter had been there once before with a cousin and she liked it. I don't know if it's because we went so late in the night, but it was not a good experience. We ordered cheese dip, and it seems they just pulled it out of the refrigerator and forgot to warm it up. It was not just cool - it was COLD. They warmed it up for us, but it was so thin, like it was made with more milk than cheese, and had no flavor. I ordered a shrimp taco salad, and it also tasted somewhat cold, but I was tired and didn't want to complain again, so I thought I would just deal with it. But then I took a bite and bit into solid ice. At that point, I didn't want to send it back just for them to microwave it and bring it back to me soggy, and I didn't want to wait for them to make another salad so close to closing time. I just wanted to leave. We also had a to-go order, which was for 2 shrimp quesadillas. It wasn't until after we got home that I realized they only gave us one, and my other daughter said the shrimp tasted very watery. Our waiter was nice, and my husband's meal, a regular taco salad, was fine. Based on the reviews (I wish I had read them before we went) this place seems to be very hit or miss. Unfortunately it was a...
Read moreMy first experience was pretty good. I'm from the west coast so Mexican food is a lot different. This was good though. My food could have been a little warmer. Guacamole was excellent. We decided to go back last week and was pleased we were the only ones there, caught them early before the rush. We sat down and were handed our menus. During this time two other tables were seated, we still hadn't been given even water and we were quite thirsty. I noticed one group had been served some beverages and then the second group had also. We tried flagging our server over for some drinks. By this time 12 minutes had gone by, she just shook her head at us, not quite sure what that was about because we surely were polite and had never seen this woman before. We decided it was time to leave. Take our business elsewhere. Food was cold last time anyways and so were the stale chips we had stuck in our throats while we waited for when some water. It's not like you were busy. Sadly we'll continue to go down the street where the service...
