I had high hopes for Cook Out after hearing people rave about the variety and affordability, but my experience was incredibly disappointing. From the moment I pulled into the drive-thru, it was chaotic. The line was long and disorganized, and it took nearly 25 minutes just to place my order. You’d expect fast food to be, well, fast — but this felt like the complete opposite. There was zero communication, and the staff seemed overwhelmed and uninterested in moving things along efficiently.
When I finally got my food, it was nowhere near fresh. The burger was lukewarm, dry, and lacked any real flavor. The bun was soggy, and the toppings looked like they had been slapped on carelessly. I also ordered a side of hushpuppies and a shake — the hushpuppies were hard as rocks and tasted old, while the shake was so thick I couldn’t even drink it without nearly collapsing my straw from the effort. For a place that markets its shakes as a highlight, this was a huge letdown.
On top of the food being subpar, the cleanliness of the location was unacceptable. The outdoor seating area was covered in trash, overflowing bins, and sticky tables. It didn’t look like anyone had cleaned it in hours, if not days. Inside wasn’t much better — the floor was greasy, the soda fountain area was a mess, and the bathrooms were downright disgusting. I felt uncomfortable eating in such a grimy environment.
Overall, this was one of the worst fast food experiences I’ve had in recent memory. Cook Out might be cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for — bland food, long waits, and a dirty atmosphere. I won’t be coming back, and I’d recommend looking elsewhere if you’re in the mood for a quick and satisfying meal. There are too many better options out there to waste...
Read moreI went through the drive-thru and had an awful experience. When I got to the window, the girl handed me my drink — the lid was literally off and it was dripping everywhere. She just said, “I’ll get you some napkins,” like it was no big deal.
I asked for honey mustard, and she said “okay.” They handed me my food, and of course — no honey mustard. So I parked and walked up to the window. I could see the staff just standing there on their phones. When I knocked, they looked at me like I was bothering them.
A guy came to the window and said, “What can I do for you?” in a very annoyed tone. I asked for the honey mustard I already requested, and while he didn’t throw it at me, he handed it to me with attitude and shut the window immediately after — no “sorry” or anything.
To make it worse, the burger was cold and they only gave me four cheese bites.
This place clearly needs a lesson in customer service....
Read moreWent through the drive through twice, order was wrong both times. Parked and went up to the order window, stood there for about ten minutes and nobody came to the window (although they acknowledged us) went around to the actual drive through window, girl rudely said “we weren’t allowed to come through the drive through without a car” but yet we were ignored at the walk up window They definitely need to either train employees better or have somebody outside taking orders because there is a lot of miscommunication going on but beware when we went around the second time they took the original sandwiches and just put the extra toppings on top instead of making fresh, when we asked for a refund they took the sandwiches back again and gave us the refund safe to say I wouldn’t come back here until things change they have a 2.7 start rating...
