We went for trivia night. That is always a fun time. The questions would appeal to the generation raised when taking the California achievement test was a measure of standardized scoring.
Though the piped-in music is just a wee bit louder than what allows for casual conversation, the service was excellent.
The menu is varied, but I think the pizzas seem to be their specialty. The pizza options could be wider. I ordered wings in two varieties, Parmesan and sweet heat. The wing sections were plump. That is the first quality of a buffalo wing, that the sections be large.(Buffalo Wild Wings could take notes about this, because their wing portions are so skimpy one might think they came from a Cornish game hen) For an entree, I ordered chicken Alfredo. The portion was huge, and would be great to share. It comes topped with a few Parmesan knots(a very delicious serendipity) I had unsweat tea with lemon to drink.
They had some beer on special tonight. The menu seemed just a touch more pricey than need be, but it wasn't anything that was going to set me back. But it does set the rating back a star. It was such a fun night, with the trivia and the company of folk I was with, that I didn't mind, too much. You do get a tremendous amount of food.
I love when I get to leave a review for a restaurant that is...
Read moreWe live in Longview and we were trilled when they opened a Rotola's here and we went there at least once a week, but then it started going downhill. Pizzas started coming out dry with little to no sauce and when we complained, they added a little more sauce but charged us the price of an extra condiment. As for the staff, sometimes you got someone who seemed to have potential but when we'd go back, they longer were there and the person who waited on you, either had an attitude or had not been trained at all. After putting up with it for a while, we just gave up and quit going. Yesterday we had to go to Barksdale and on our way home, we decided to give the Rotolo's in Shreveport a try. The place was busy, but we could not have received better service from a guy named Javon. Great personality. My wife always liked the Vin Monster and I liked the Cheeseburger. Since the Cheeseburger was no longer on the dinner menu and we weren't that hungry, he said he could do half Vin Monster and half Cheeseburger. It came out piping hot and was delicious and we couldn't have had better service. W e will definitely go back when we go to Shreveport. Just wish we had a Javon here...
Read moreI'll give full credit that everyone is struggling with the lack of power and its causing both employees to be unable to work and restaurants with power to be slammed, so I'll start with that. I place an order for 530, 4 items. When I got there 2 were made and 2 were unavailable because of the power outage. Staff offered to refund the cost or make a pizza instead to replace it. I was told 15/20 minutes so I sat in the parking lot with three kids for 20 minutes. When I went back in 20 minutes later I was told it wasn't ready and they didn't know when it would be, but would bring it to my car. I called from the parking lot 40 minutes later to check, no having waited an hour for these pizzas. He said five minutes. Ten minutes later he said they'd just come up. I spent $50 and 1.5 hours of my life and got to go home with warm pizza and the first two items which had been sitting for an hour and a half and were cool and rubbery after the time (nothing against the fresh taste, its normally quite good but nothing tastes good after sitting in a car for an hour and a half). I would've appreciated an accurate time estimate so I could've just canceled the order and gone...
