Gilliganās Island Bar & Grill 2-1-25 Arrived there about 3:25pm on Saturday afternoon in Siesta Key. I must admit this place was just about packed even at that time. One thing to note parking can be a hassle especially if you have a Handicap person with you. There are some spots on the street in front, but they were all taking up and so was all other spots up the entire street. We had to go around the block a couple times until one opened in a parking lot at the end of the block and its 5.00 per hour for parking. Once inside they seated us fast and came right over to give us menus and tell us a couple things about the menu. Our Waitress Deirdre was fast on our drinks, and she knew the menu and explained a few things to us since it was our first times there. We all ordered the Market Fish Sandwich which you could choose from Grouper, White Tail, Mahi-mahi, Blackened, Fried or Grilled. We all chose the White Tail Fish to go on our Sandwiches. Two of us got Fries and one got Nachos & Salsa for a side. We also ordered 2 House Salads which had Lettuce. Tomato, Hard Boiled Eggs, Onions, Bacon, and Cucumbers. Our Salads came out fast and they were very good and larger than expected. As we were finishing our Salads our main orders came out. They looked so good and filled the plate. Our Fish Sandwiches were hot and very large with Lettuce, Tomato, Tartar Sauce, and a Lime Wedge on the side. This Fish Sandwich was very good, and the Blackened Seasoning was spot on. The Fries were out of this world good. Once we finished eating, we order a slice of Key Lime Pie. It also was good, and presentation was beautiful. I believe everyone needs to try this place the vibe is all beachy and the food and service is very good for a street side Tiki Bar. I give this place 5 out of 5 stars for the great service, good food, and great vibe. I canāt wait to go back! āāāāā Follow Me On Fb For More...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe hosts' are super NON welcoming & oblivious to walk in patrons. The hosts' entire job is to great people, welcome them & direct them. NOT to hand guesture one to ...walk on by.
So, we walked in & found a table & were told we had to "check in" with the host, AFTER he flagged us by. This kid seriously needs a lesson in hospitality!
We walked back the entire length of the establishment to be seated. We advised the hosts' we were there to see the band. We were told, "We can seat you now and after dinner you can visit the band area & stand where there is room". This was totally unacceptable, especially since there were there super early & there were dining tables in the shade near the stage. We went back to the stage area & moved chairs from a sunny high top to a shaded palypa. We were told that was not permitted. Okay...we're batting zero for zero here. NOT the warm fuzzy welcome we were lead to believe existed. Finally, we asked our server if we could move to a table in the shade. She aquessed & the evening showed signs of improvement.
Our food was so-so. I had the fish sandwich & my husband a burger. The side of beans & rice was quite good. The brocolli was al dente and devoid of flavor. The fish sandwich did include a delicious slice of perfectly ripe tomato. It took forever to get our table bussed. Overall, the wait staff was friendly, just not very attentive. There was no salt & peper on the table, no Ketchup & no paper towels. We did enjoy the band. It's questionable if we will return. It took entirely too long to get our bill. Upwards to 40 minutes. I was billed $8/glass of wine when the on-line menu clearly states that the house wine is $6.50/glass. I was comped one glass of wine since I was double served, this compensatesd for the menu error, so we left...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWorst customer service I think I have ever seen. An older couple in their 60s ordered a drink, and it was clearly made wrong. A vodka and cranberry should not be extremely bright red. I watched this all Go down and ask the customer asked the bartender to make a new drink. She gave them attitude. The customer then said obviously youāre not really good at making these drinks. The young bartender Sydney for the most part stood around as if it was her first day and she was extremely lost on how to help multiple customers. She even changed a TV station that another set of customers requested to watch and that was a whole different situation. Within two minutes, a very bossy speaking, Filipino tattooed lady who claimed she is the outside bartender, became really rude to the elderly people and then when I explain to her that that is not how that situation went down, she then got rude and loud with me, which then caused a huge scene. If I was the owner of this place, I would definitely be questioning the outside bartender Filipino lady with tattoos acting like she is a cop/owner of the bar and getting loud with customers. My experience at this place was extremely trashy. I think this place could do a much better job hiring people to treat their customers. There were a lot of people at the bar that were definitely surprised how your bartenders were talking to customers this place is trash. I hope it cleans its act up. It used to be a fun place to go. I feel really bad for the older couple sitting next to me where these two bartenders...
