Windy City Pizza Silverthorne — Restaurant in Silverthorne

So I’m honestly not sure what everybody raves about this place in the comments for? maybe they’re not pizza people but I’ve had pizza from coast to coast, it’s kinda my thing to check out pizza places and this place is “OK” if you’re Maybe from Kansas or Missouri and have never had real pizza…but honestly, I think I would rather Domino’s… I ordered two different kinds of pizza like I always do so I have multiple new discoveries and I always get an appetizer which was the stuffed cheese rolls. I got a white sauce pizza and a red sauce pizza. both of them were their specialty pizzas. I don’t know how to describe it without sounding mean but I didn’t really like anything about it. it was over cheesed. The crust wasn’t crispy enough. Some of the meats were not quality. You could just taste it. Nothing special about the dough or the crust either. the cheese rolls were OK. The absolute WORST thing about the whole experience was the marinara. I have never even seen marinara this bad in my entire life. It’s like they opened tomato sauce cans and watered it down. It wouldn’t even stick to your finger if you were to dip your finger in it that’s how watery it was. It tasted like water and tomatoes….so just all in all super disappointed because I read all the comments and thought it was going to be amazing. I hate to be mean and leave bad reviews, but I feel like it’s my duty as kind of a pizza connoisseur for all the other people out there that are like me and are picky Because the reviews are very misleading If you know what quality pizza is or should be. the best pizza you’ll ever eat, at least that I have discovered in the state of Colorado is in a little town called Redstone. If you Google Redstone and pizza, you can’t miss it. I have driven over two hours to eat this pizza before you will see why if you go there. And of course there’s great pizza all over the country, but you have to find it. One good thing about this place is they had great customer service and got my order perfect and was fast. But I’d rather wait...

Ordered delivery on 16 February 2023 in Silverthorne. Spending time here as skiing tourists from St. Louis area. Overall 3 stars:

Ordering online through the Toast App (which the place uses) = 5 stars. Easy and quick.

Delivery time = 1 star. Delivery was estimated to take 1 hour. However, our pizza took 1 hour and 41 minutes to arrive.

Delivery Driver = 5 stars. Very polite and apologized for the significant delay - indicated they had been "slammed" so everything was backed up.

Pizza upon delivery: 3 stars. Lukewarm to cold so required reheating immediately before serving. Reheated I'd give the pizza 4 stars as it is pretty good pizza overall but I don't think anything particularly exciting. Supreme pizza seemed a bit light on the toppings whereas the cheese we ordered for our kids was perfect.

Other: As noted above our delivery took a very long time. I tried to call the Silverthorne location at the number listed in the Toast App (the app the place uses mind you) and I got a message that the "wireless caller cannot receive calls" or something like that. No other contact information that I could find. I went to Google and the same number is listed both on the place's website and on the Google entry. So, basically, we were not able to call, text, or email to check on order status. Told wife if we did not see pizza in 2 hours I would just dispute the charge with the credit card and/or drive to the place and try to sort it out. Pizza came eventually (see above).

I don't normally write reviews, it typically bothers the hell out of me but I legitimately can't let this one sit by. I ordered a 16" pizza for myself and a friend that was visiting. I placed the order at 6:00-6:15 and my estimated delivery time was 7:38. It was a bit of a long wait but I figured they were busy and I'd be happy to wait so I can support a local group, after 8:00 hit I started to call the restaurant to see what was going on. Every time I called, the phone was picked up and then immediately hung up on. The Pizza did not arrive at my place until after 8:30 and was not very warm, it was also clear that the pizza had been reheated after sitting out the first time. Additionally the pizza was the wrong size, I had order here before and the "16 was a very large pizza and this time my pizza was about half the size. I would have gladly continued to order from this place but I'm not sure I want to give them another chance after this. Especially because I'm not going to be refunded or even given something back when my order is wrong and...
