So, my quest to find and collect those hard-to-find pieces has led me to a bunch of different Le Creuset stores across the country. This past trip found me at the Silverthorne Store for the first time. I always say I have enough Le Creuset pieces and, "I'm just going in to look"... Oh, the lies we tell ourselves... It just so happened that they had a dutch oven that I had been coveting and could not find anywhere else. I saw it at different store a few weeks prior, but restrained myself from buying it and when I called the store a few days later, they had sold it. Serves me right for hesitating and not listening to the Le Creuset spirits.
The problem I had is that we were driving cross-country and there was literally no space left in the car. When there's no space for a Le Creuset piece, you know there's LITERALLY. NO. SPACE.
It was at this freak-out point that the amazing Lily approached me and in the gentlest, non-pushy, calm and collected voice said, "What color do you collect?". It was as if she read my soul.
I eventually explained my quandary to her and she suggested we take the empty box to see if it would fit in the car. When that didn't work, she then brilliantly offered to ship it to me, free of charge.
There were two other ladies with Lily in the store, and I have to say - chatting with those three that day was probably the best experience I've ever had in any Le Creuset store. They were easy going, had a great energy, and were genuinely kind and pleasant people. We didn't just talk Le Creuset, but when we did, they all knew their stuff. With their knowledge, I knew I had to get out of there quick or else I'd have to rent a U-Haul to lug all the stuff I'd buy.
The Dutch oven arrived safely today in perfect condition and "well-packed" is an understatement. The best part about all this is that they took the time to write me a personalized thank you note. It's the little things that mean a lot and the team at Silverthorne has it down to a science.
I did end up swinging by a couple of other LC stores on my trip, but none of the folks matched the amazing customer service at Silverthorne. Also, it's the nicest laid-out store I've been to. The way they arrange their merchandise is intuitive and didn't make my eyes crazy like some of the other stores do.
If you ever find yourself in the Denver area, this is definitely the place to go if you're a fan or a collector. And, if you're remotely curious about Le Creuset, this is the place to go - these folks will patiently answer any / every question you might have and you'll find yourself leaving the store with a lot more knowledge (and, probably a couple of good pieces to start your collection)!
Thanks, Lily and Team, for an amazing experience and for helping me finally get the dutch oven I'd been so desperately seeking! You've made me a fan of the Silverthorne Store and I can't wait to stop in and see you guys on our...
Read moreWe have been to this store on at least 3 occasions. Both my girlfriend and I have worked in the service industry and are friendly and engaging with staff as a result. On all 3 occasions we have had a negative experience with the male store attendant. I believe he has glasses. Apathetic would be a kind description - a much better description would be openly aloof, rude and intimidating/unwelcoming. His manager needs to work with him to develop some kind of customer service - although I am doubtful given the extent of his attitude how much this would help .We like Le Creuset but at this point I would rather order online than have to walk into this store and be made to feel unwelcome by this worker. Not really sure why someone who clearly does not enjoy this line of work would stay in it so long, it really doesn’t make too much...
Read moreIf you enjoy Le Creuset cookware than this is your place. The staff here are unpretentious, friendly and knowledgeable. You'll find some great prices here. With that said you have to be a savvy shopper. About half the store isn't really that discounted. You'll find that plenty of pots & pans are at regular price or very close to it. That said they have different "tables" at 50% & 60%. On our most recent visit the 60% off table had an enameled cast iron skillet that was deeply discounted because of a discontinued color. Needless to say we got a nearly $200 pan for about $70 bucks including tax. Total steal. They also have a stoneware section (kettles, bakeware, dishes, etc) for 40% off. We picked up a beautiful tea kettle as a gift for barely $50. Drop in if only to check out the 60% off table. Odds are you'll find something...
