Read moreMy husband and I stayed here for almost 3 weeks as we were working in the area. We were paying daily as we were always uncertain of being moved to another work site. Yesterday my husband went and paid for our room again last night on his lunch break. When we returned our key card would not work. He went to the front desk and was told that another employee had stolen the money and that they caught that on camera and they fixed the card. An hour later I decided to pay for the room again and avoid having anymore issues. We were told we would have to wait for the manager in the morning. So we went to bed. Got up this morning and tried to pay for another room to be told to come back at 8:30 or 9 am. I took off work drove 30 miles one way back and went in to pay for our room. Again i was told the rate was higher I said fine because they usually are through the weekend. I then asked if I could bring in the payment when we checked in as I was 7 dollars short and needed to go to an ATM. (I pay in cash as my company remburses us for the room, back to a card takes 4 weeks cash takes 1 week.) I was told that I would have to do it before 11. I had just taken off work it was 830 this morning and I knew my boss would not allow me to leave again and that it was a 60 mile drive round trip thats 120miles total for this adventure. I did not use a rude tone of voice or foul language. I simply wanted her to understand the inconvience that I was being put in to spend my money at their establishment. I was told that I could not rent a room there again. So if this establishment allows its employees to steal then punishes the customer then why are they allowed to carry a Wyndham logo? Usually they value the cunsumer who pays thier operating costs including payroll.. Bad management! Oh well there breakfast sucks and is never out on time, the bathrooms still have hair left in them from the previous rental, and all but 3 employees are rude. Why...
Read moreLet me start with general description before I get to my story. It is a bare basic hotel, but cheaper than others in top of ski season. It is right off the highway, close (walk or 5 min drive) to town center of Silverthorne. Note they do not have elevator (3 story building). That said, the room condition is acceptable for those who are looking for affordable place to sleep during the peak season, and so I have been doing.
This year, I booked a weekend (Thurs to Sun) here via Expedia. My flight arriving late in Denver, I needed to change the booking to Fri to Sun. Hotel refused to do so but Expedia agency talked with the hotel and change was made. When I arrived at the hotel on Friday evening, they apparently did not get the change put thru in their system so they considered me as no show on Thursday, despite that Expedia had clear record of their conversation for the change, and the room had been sold to someone else.
Expedia talked with the front person but she cannot/refused to do anything and told the Expedia rep to talk to their manager on Monday. They did not have any room anyway, so I needed to book another hotel in Georgetown, which is on the other side of tunnel, and took almost an hour to get there (only 25 miles but due to road condition).
I spoke with Expedia rep next week and found that the hotel refused to refund the money for which I did not stay and sold at higher price to someone else.
Expedia kindly subsidized and refunded the money to me.
I will never go...
