The Sugar Shack Bakery — Restaurant in Sioux City

I love their cookies and I always love having them on hand. So I don’t take writing this review lightly. Unfortunately I do not live in Sioux City, many times I have to depend on someone picking up the cookies and bringing them to me. Today I called and wanted to place an order, pay in advance and have someone pick them up for me. I was told it would cost .25 more per cookie. I said maybe you don’t understand I just want to pay and have someone pick up the cookies. No special order as a matter of fact you can just give him the cookies that you already have boxed up, the same ones you sell to me when I am able to come in. You see if I am in town and I go in to pick up cookies they ask me, can we give you the cookies we already have boxed, I always say absolutely. Today I was told, we are a cash and carry business that’s the reason for the .25 extra per cookie, if you order in advance we can set aside your cookies, I said but I am paying for the cookies before you even set them aside, and most retail businesses are cash and carry, I am not asking you to deliver the cookies. I don’t want anything special just the cookies you already have boxed and I will pay you in advance! It was a perplexing conversation to say the least. At the end she offered to waive the fee, I responded, no thanks it is the principle. I will have to find somewhere else to get my cookies. Sad to...

VERY RUDE customer service. The second I walked in the lady was extremely RUDE! AND the owner just lets her talk to the customers that way.. That woman should not work w/ the public. I ordered a cookie platter to ONLY have received 5 decorated cookies and the rest regular cookies and it cost $85. Word of mouth goes a long ways, and I will be sure to let people know my experience! I will NEVER order from here again! Waaaaay overly priced. SHAME ON YOU Sugar Shack. I have ordered decorated cookies in the past from Sugar Shack, received an ENTIRE tray, different sizes, all decorated and ONLY paid $65.. Let me start by saying I really love their decorated cookies. I wanted to get some for the corrections officers. In an effort to cut down on the congestion in the store and my time in the store I called and asked if I could pick up 50 cookies, whatever they had in the case was fine. They said yes. I told them I was available any time to pick them up. When I Arrived and paid I realized I was charged 1.25/ cookie instead of the normal $1.00. I inquired why and was told when you order they are $1.25. I said I didn't special order, I was just helping by phoning early to help with social distancing. I was still charged $1.25 a cookie...$12.50 more than if I would have come in and stood there while they took the exact same cookies out of the case.
