I’ve tried gyros at many different places. If there’s a gyro on the menu, that’s what I’m trying. I’ve had them at state and local fairs, chain restaurants like Arby’s, and Greek Restaurants around the U.S. and I’ve got to say that the gyro sandwich’s at Nicks are the best I’ve had anywhere and their cucumber sauce is also second to none. It certainly doesn’t hurt how generous they are with the amount of meat they put in them either! If you get one, you have to dine in. I swear they lose some magic if you take them to go. When the dining room was closed during COVID I thought they changed something but then when I dined in again, it was still the best!! Get the gyro and get a side of feta cheese to crumble up on top and finish it off with their red hot sauce. So good! I guess if you get the gyro plate it comes with the cheese but if you get the gyro by itself you have to ask for a side of feta? I don’t really get that because the feta is for the gyro, not the fries that come with the plate, right? Oh well… Service is always pretty fast which is amazing because I don’t know if I’ve ever seen more than 3 people working at a time. They seem to be very efficient at what they do. Staff there is kind and courteous. The woman that always seems to work the register has been there a long time and she’s always so patient even with difficult customers. The owner is there working often as well which is always good to see. The chicken gyro’s are good too (that’s what my wife always gets) but for me, you gotta get the classic… that’s the best. My son always gets the cheeseburger which he seems to like well enough. I’ll probably never get a burger there but it’s nice they have something for the picky unadventurous eaters amongst us, like young kids. I want so bad to give them 5-stars and I would but I am just not a fan of their crinkle fries. I’m sure some people love them but for me they are just not flavorful and kinda mushy. If I do get them, I eat my gyro over the top of them first so all the stuff that falls out ends up over the top of the fries, top that all off with their hot sauce and then eat them with a fork and then they’re not bad but, I can’t eat them by themselves. All in all, this is one of my favorite spots in town. If you’ve never been, you’re missing out!!

I would highly recommend dining in. The place is SPOTLESS. Inside is painted in semi-gloss blue and white (ώπα!!!) Nick's makes most of its revenue from the elephant line of lazy South Dakotans who can't do a 30 min jog.. How ever the drive-thru line on average is 10min wait. (Nick has to go fell a cow for you...lol Actually that's very good for food made to order. Comparable to popular Gyro Time or bigger chains like Mad Greek) The menu is simple. Gyros or Burgers ... Has your staple Spanakopita and Baklava. The Gyro is simple (basic pita, gyro meat, sliced onion, tomato, and a garnish of 2 olives and piece of feta. Fries come off the fryer pretty crispy. Fries are fries, don't complain the serving size, fried food is BAD for you anyway ... They do have sides but who cares about those, you're here for the Gyro Plate (not the 6" Gyro Sandwich) RIGHT?! For a Gyro joint in SOUTH DAKOTA it's pretty fun. Food is swell, the service is fast and professional, and the townies love it. It's Gyro joint, not. Bistro... You will not get Moussaka here so don't find reasons to whine, The food is good, that's all you need to know. Nick's has been around for a while because the service is consistent and food is hot when served. Pricing is not too steep but you are paying for a spotless dining room, decent food, and a quiet atmosphere to escape the normies and not-so-based townies in Sioux Falls. You'll enjoy the dining room more than the drive-thru and it's close to plenty of shopping and other food chains to keep the prices reasonably good. Nick's is the place you go to avoid the daily grind, long lines and ridiculous wait times.

Not super impressed. Odd that fried are $3.00 as a side but they charge $5.00 for upgraded to "plate" which includes THE SAME piddly amount of fries. There is nothing more added to the "plate" deal. Did not notice that until i took pics of the menu boards. Didn't bother complaining...just wont go back. Very clean place though, well taken care of!! Staff...ok, not very cheery or friendly...the gal complained a lot about rain. I just laughed as she kept going on about it. The lamb spam was typical processed stuff. The cucumber sauce wasnt anything special as a lot of folks say. But im very finicky to Gyros...had then all over the country and on the pier in Dubai and Bahrain....so im judging against those standards. It was a good amount of meat...but not 10$ worth. Or $15 with the $3 fries and 2$ Styrofoam plate added in i guess..lmao. oh and the baklava...good price, good flavor...but just a bit to dry to me.

I ordered a Gyro salad with onions and extra feta cheese and olives. And I was not disappointed at how much they put on! I ordered the extra chunks of feta cheese and not the chopped up feta cheese and they were happy to substitute and it was perfect. They don’t overload the salad with lettuce and very little of anything else… Instead they give you nice fresh veggies and a ton of meat. So much meat that I can put part of it away for a sandwich later. When they hand me that salad I am always surprised at how much it weighs! Two containers salad dressing. I was happy to see they were wearing masks and I saw one girl changing her gloves. They have the best iced tea in town, too. The staff remembers me and treats me so well. When I order things without the styrofoam containers, trying to be a little earth friendly… they don’t complain at all. And the outside grounds and flowers are just unbelievably beautiful. I highly recommend giving it a chance if it’s just that little blue and white building you pass by all the...
