The Rush Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Sioux Falls Township

One of the absolutely required stops on our trip.

Not because of the delicious, creatively prepared local favorites. Which ARE worth seeking out. The Chislic is a South Dakota fare that we absolutely miss in the Rockies... no.

Believe it or not, the wonderful selections on tap was not the primary reason for our venture into this Phoenix arising from the "ground zero" tornado strike. Mind you a great story unto itself, while savoring a great dark beer, rivaling Guinness. (shhh) ... no.

Could it be the simple barn wood style of the interior? Subtle yet reminiscent of the home awaiting us on our return...? no.

Although these truths, sufficient on each of their own merits, were not the reasons.

Lisa. Our dear and wonderful friend (and longtime bartender)enlightened us to The Rush. As is said, always trust your bartender and hair stylist... both can really mess your weekend up. Leaving one with serious regrets. 🤪

You all did a great job! Food, Drink, Ambience, Clientele. Congrats. Lisa we love you much and you still know the great spots. Thanks.

For all those reading, treat yourself to a great place. The Bacon jam was treat and I agree the Walleye SHOULD be hookers. Till next time...

Last night I was in there with my dad. We gambled for a bit and after we gambled, I went up to the bar and asked if I could have a menu after waiting for several minutes at a table when no one came. After our food came out I went and grabbed it on the bar. They never brought it to the table and when I went up to get my food, I asked the bartender why he couldn’t bring the food to my table and he said because he’s not a server and I said OK so I asked him for a side of barbecue and aju sauce and as he was coming out of the kitchen, I heard the waitress say well maybe you should’ve gave her some toilet water. That was very unprofessional. After we sat down eating the bartender came and WAITED on the table in front of us. The waitress came by and we explained what happened and she didn’t have a care in the world. When I went and called to speak to a manager the next day he wasn’t in. I checked my account today and they charged my card with my dad’s food on there without asking us. Find better people to work for you. Bartenders and servers get tips based on their service. I actually enjoyed coming to this bar once in a while but won’t be back with these type of rude people...

From the minute I walked in then door I went to the dj to request a karaoke song. I asked if he had a book or something to see what he has for song choices. He was very rude and said nope I am the music, and pointed to the computer. Then he just ignored me. I then said excuse me can I ask if you have specific song? He did look it up for me and sloppily jotted my name down on a torn corner peice of paper along with many other names. No list no order. Then was told singers weren't going to start until the karaoke competition was over (that had been going on for many hours) it was already almost midnight! I asked the bar tender who the manager was and he said the dj was!! I was floored. I saw multiple people get up to sing that had already sung...no new singers were being called. I was not impressed. I also saw multiple people overserved alcohol and they were continuing to serve them even when some could...
