Today I stopped by and donated to the thrift store; I decided to step in and browse the store. I found at the bottom of a basket some infant booties which were very fluffy, but they didn't have a price tag. When I went to the front to ask if they had a price, they couldn't find one either. I asked if they would take 50¢ for them since they weren't in the best of condition. They said two dollars, and I replied I was fine without them. As I exited the establishment, the supervisor (or whoever had come to the front to help me) commented loud enough for me and those around to hear, " Looks like someone tried really hard to take the price off." Look, I've been going to this store my whole life, I enjoy going there, and there are two very sweet ladies who are willing to assist, and speak respectfully to customers, but this lady was not only rude, but also unprofessional. For an estblishment which asks me to donate to the children upon each purchase, I expect the professional courtesy of refraining from accusing the customer, especially when there is no evidence. Tell me you don't sell if it doesn't have a price, I'll be fine, but smearing my integrity is...
Read moreAs other reviews have expressed, the prices in this place are crazy. A bag of second hand Legos at a thrift shop for $450.00!!!!! $30.00 for a pair of second hand childrens shoes? Pricing things based on what a retail store charges was never supposed to be part of a thrift shops mission. Why even try to toe the line and get as close to retail as possible? A thrift shop is supposed to be a place to help those less fortunate. It should also stand as a refuge for people who arent ok paying corporations 1000-2000 percent profit for products made by child or slave labor (which is literally almost every place Americans shop I.e. wally world). Instead these once shining lights of shopping independence are now showing that they are no better than any other corporation. Then ask if we would like to donate more of our funds at checkout...
Read moreUNREALISTICALLY EXPENSIVE. Items priced at around 15-25% off MSRP Retail prices. Absolutely absurd how much the items here are priced. Most of the higher ticket items don't even work or are broken or missing peices. Whomever is pricing the stuff at this location is not doing CHKD any favors here. They lose alot more sales, turning customers off by the high prices. Other chkd locations I can go in and spend hundreds and actually score deals, but I won't spend my money at this location, the pricing screams GREEDY and some of the lady's here are very rude and stuck up. They're behavior reminds me of workers who are complacent, comfortable with treating customers as if we're intruding in on their home. Instead of being welcoming and friendly. Not all, but a few of the older ladies foster...
