IHOP — Restaurant in Smyrna

I go with 0 start because of the bad experience I had a few hours ago at this place. And I HAD to put one because otherwise won't allow me to post my comment. First I've been driving little over 10 hours with my grandson, we were hungry, it was around 8:30pm, and we decided to stop at IHOP. Where I live, sometimes you enter and sit with no problem, well...We started entering, and this ignorant employee came, we said can we enter? In a calm pleasant voice, and he said in a rude way "weeelll, it will be better if you can wait to be seated" we replied "ohh I'm so sorry sir" at that time we were almost at the entrance to go to the seating area, (all the conversation was there) and he stop in the middle infront of us, for us to move all the way back, and then he said "and don't rushed me" we said ohhh we are not rushing you, sorry, and we move back. He took the menus and we followed him. He snapped on the table the menus, "like" this is your table, he didn't even said anything else, and continued walking. We stayed standing there and he started coming at the area of our table again, and even tho I said again to him "I'm so sorry sir, where we live, some of the IHOP you enter and sit with no problem" something that he replied "uhummm" and continued walking. He went to the other area, talked with the waitress, then went with another clients on that other area, and started making a DRAMA, BIG SHOW!, he went on top of the seat, snapped his body on the wall, with both arms up, saying child comments and laughing, then he went and started talking about us with the other clients. At that moment I started looking at him very serous and upset, and saw me, he lowered his voice and stop. Another family came, and he sit them beside us (at this time no one came to ask what we want, not even offered a drink to us). Minutes later the waitress was finally coming (that she knew that we were there WAY BEFORE that family, because she sees us when we entered), and without looking at us, she went straight to that other family beside us and asked them what they want. Right away I stands up, told my grandson let's go, and I said to her, "you guys are very unprofessional, you know I was here first". Right away, she did one about face racing her arms and said to the front guy, "gosh you see?! You..." I continued walking, so I don't know what she said to him. But he didn't even said anything to her, and he didn't even have the nerve to look at us. Soooo, my note for YOU, ignorant at the front area. You are a very unprofessional, a very childish, arrogant, again ignorant and disrespectful. I can not even referred you as a Men, or a person, because I don't want to insult real men's or peoples. I can not even call you animal, because I don't even want to insults the poor innocent animals. You for real need some training! IHOP, you should give to this type of ignorants, some courses on how they should treat the customers. I don't believe to fired them, because probably this is the only they can do in life. But for sure, this ignorant need some 911 training. Very disappointed!

If i could leave just half a star i would and that’s being generous. Staff are loudly gossiping about their tables, mind you there was only 3 tables to take care of at 11pm at night. Overheard one staff member ask another employee if they were intoxicated (while clocked in) and in response they said yes which is a huge red flag. Unsure if they were under the influence of alcohol or drugs but that’s not okay and was reported by my fiancé. Another staff member was loud and irritated the whole time because she was messing up orders from a table next to us stating they are being to demanding and wanting to much customizations which I’m sorry but that is literally your job. Waited over 15 mins to be seated. 15 mins to get our first set of drinks which was taken by TWO employees. Over 25 mins for food to arrived and was asked if everything looked alright, which we informed her we were just was missing a few items in which the lady turned around halfway through us stating everything (salsa, sour cream and syrup) then just gave a thumbs up and walked away. 10 mins later nothing arrived until we asked someone else to retrieve our missing items. No one checked on us once after even though we sat INFRONT of the entry of the kitchen where we were able to hear and see everything clear as day and they always locked eyes with us. As they were all huddled up gossiping, my fiancé managed to see them in the mirror they have up towards the ceiling to see if anyone is coming around the corners with food and managed to take a photo to show said manager which never came when we requested to speak with her. When we were ready to just get our check and leave, one of the two waitresses that was “catering” to us asked how the service was. We told her everything stated in this review that even included complaints against her. In her response “I’m sorry to hear that. In my opinion some type of communication is better than none and we strive to be the best and we always love feedback even if it’s negative.” Pardon me? If that was the case you’d do your job correctly, attend to your customers in a timely manner and report back to your manager on duty of any rules broken by customer or employee. 10/10 severely unsatisfied Typically we order to go which is 9.5/10 a disaster to begin with so we decided that maybe, just maybe if we go dine-in we’d have a much better experience. Boy were we wrong. We definitely will not be returning via dine in or mobile...

I usually never post unless its a positive post but this time it was so bad that I had to!! My husband and myself placed our order and the waitress acted like she was in the last place she wanted to be, which I've been there, I usually chalk it up to having a bad day. Been there so I can understand being a little off. I ordered a cup of hot tea and my husband ordered his drink. Ok she brought us our drinks, no straw no spoon for me to stir my sugar and cream so I waited a min or 2 to see if she would walk by but didn't so I had to go and get it myself. Ok, not a big deal but when our order was brought it was wrong, once again things happen, so I told her it was wrong and the look she gave me! Took it back and said they'll remake it. Waited for mine as I watch my husband eat the part of his that was correct but that wasn't before I had to go find her for silverware. Now when I finally got my order part of it was missing still. I still stayed calm and asked for the rest of it and she said I didn't order what I said was missing! NOW why would you bring it to me the first time wrong and then bring me half of my order and tell me I never ordered it in the first place. This is now going into a hour of service by this time. So needless to say the service was NOT good! Also after all of this my link sausages were pink in the middle but I had enough. The only positive thing about that visit was the elderly gentlemen that finally brought my omelet to me was very nice and he made a damn good omelet!!
