Tucked away in a busy shopping center off Scenic Highway, Provino’s Italian Restaurant in Snellville has been a local fixture for years, and stepping inside feels like taking a step back in time—in a good way. With its dim lighting, old-school décor, and warm atmosphere, Provino’s doesn’t try to be trendy or flashy. It leans into its vintage Italian-American identity and focuses on what really matters: good food and exceptional service.

The ambiance is nostalgic. The decor hasn’t changed much in decades, and while some might see that as dated, there’s a certain charm in how the place has remained consistent over the years. Faux grapevines hang from the ceiling, the booths are cozy and private, and the walls are adorned with classic Italian artwork and vintage photos. You almost expect to hear Dean Martin or Frank Sinatra playing in the background—and often, you do. It’s not trying to reinvent the wheel; it’s offering the comfort of familiarity.

One of the biggest highlights at Provino’s is the complimentary salad and garlic rolls served with every entrée. The salad is tossed tableside, generously doused in their signature vinaigrette and topped with shredded mozzarella and chickpeas—simple but satisfying. The garlic rolls, however, are the real stars. Drenched in garlic butter and soft as pillows, they come out hot and glistening, and it’s almost impossible not to ask for more (which your server will happily bring).

As for the entrees, the menu sticks to traditional Italian-American fare: lasagna, eggplant parmigiana, chicken marsala, veal scallopini, fettuccine Alfredo, and a variety of baked pasta dishes. Everything we’ve tried over the years has been solid and flavorful. The portions are generous, and the dishes come out piping hot. The lasagna is rich and meaty with layers of melted cheese and a hearty red sauce. The shrimp and scallop alfredo is another standout—plump seafood nestled in a creamy, indulgent sauce. It's not gourmet-level Italian, but it's consistently tasty, well-prepared, and satisfying.

Service at Provino’s is top-notch. It’s clear that the staff have been trained well and take pride in their work. Every time we visit, the servers are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They check in often but never hover, and they genuinely seem to care that you’re having a good dining experience. Even on busy nights, they’re efficient and upbeat.

The pricing is reasonable, especially considering the amount of food you get. It’s a great spot for a family dinner, date night, or birthday celebration (and speaking of birthdays, be sure to mention if it’s yours—they offer a free meal with ID, which is a great touch).

The only real drawback is that the restaurant does show its age. The carpeting and lighting could use a refresh, and the layout feels a bit cramped when it's full. But if you're looking for sleek and modern, this probably isn’t the place for you. If you want hearty Italian food in a comfortable, no-frills setting with excellent service, Provino’s more than delivers.

In short, Provino’s is the kind of place that earns its regulars. It’s not trying to impress with flash or gimmicks—it’s just consistently good, reasonably priced, and warmly welcoming. It may not be the trendiest Italian spot in town, but it’s one you’ll come back to...

SNELLVILLE LOCATION. I loved to come here but I had a horrible experience here. My personal feeling is that I was discriminated against based on my race and being dressed super casual.  I arrived at 7:50 pm and placed my order. Salad and bread came out rather quickly within 10 minutes. The table in front of me complained of receiving cold food. The waiter apologized and told her he would bring her hot food out. The waiter walked passed me 3 times to greet and check on the table behind me and didn't acknowledge me. By 8:15 the woman with the cold food received hers and the waiter still didn't acknowledge me. How on earth did she receive her new dish and I ordered over 20 minutes ago. The waiter even told her he watched it being prepared to make sure it's hot, but still didn't come by to check on me. By 8:20 he came and told her the manager offered her a free dessert and she declined. By 8:25 he came back and told her "it's free so you should get it to go." He still didn't bother to acknowledge me. I heard him chatting it up with the tables around me yet he paid me no attention. I am quiet and unproblematic but there is still no way he didn't not know I was there. Now it's 8:40 pm. The melted butter from the rolls had even solidified. I asked someone to get my waiter. By 8:50 I saw no one and decided to leave. Me sitting in the restaurant being the last person there and no one checking on me for 50 min is absolutely absurd. I requested the manager Winston Jinks. I asked him to ring me up for the salad and bread because I had been there an hour and hadn't seen my waiter. He told me he was sorry and don't worry about it. Typically managers make rounds around the restaurant and greet customers. I didn't see him either. He didn't offer me a dessert like the other couple who actually received their food before me and received it cold. He didn't offer me an opportunity to come back. He offered me to wait and they would fix my food. At this time it's 8:56 and all the staff were hanging at the bar ready to go home and I didn't want to eat that late and I'm sure they were ready to get home. I left and came back to get my waiter's name. Winston Jinks refused to give it to me saying he doesn't give out the staff's name. At the end of the day I felt the manager was being discriminatory as well. He did absolutely nothing to make my experience better but bent over backwards for others that did not look like me. It was very disappointing to say the least for a restaurant I have been patronizing for almost 20 years. So BUYER BEWARE, if you are a minority and dressed in sweats, be prepared for bad service, discrimination, and to be treated unfairly by the staff and management. Two people had a bad experience. One was treated like royalty, the other was treated like gum on the bottom of a shoe. Why?? They looked different.  I will definitely be doing a TikTok and Instagram review on this discrimination I encountered in hopes of it...

UPDATE UPDATE!!! Read updated review below this original review. Hands down my favorite place to go with my family the food is slamming!!! The customer service is wonderful. I have never had a bad experience here these people know how to serve a large family with much style and grace !!!

As you can see by this review above we have been pleased with our services up until today. We came in for my son’s 12th birthday as we do almost every year. I noticed alot of firsts this time around. The waitress felt to need to express to us that if we weren’t all purchasing entrees then our salad would in fact be $8.95. I found that weird but i then assured her that we didn’t come just for the salad and that we would all be ordering an entree. I felt like she had already had us figured out upon us just sitting down. I didn’t dwell on it too much and we placed our orders. 5 lasagna entrees two spicy 3 plain. Salads with extra beets. We noticed that every single time she would be bringing our salads and rolls she would always stop at the other table to assist them in between serving us with our food still in her hand speaking back and forth. I brushed that off and gave her the benefit of the doubt, cause surely she wasn’t doing these things purposely. We are now at the point end of out dining experience which my husband asks for more rolls. He then took one bite and the rolls had seem to be covered in complete salt. To the point my husband’s tastebuds were completely shot without recovery. Mind you we’ve aren’t new to this establishment and this is another first. So we brush that off as well . This final first was the part that literally took the cake! I asked her to please get my sons decorated cake from the kitchen and she then asks to see proof of my sons birthday. I lost it at that point because we had never been asked to provide id for a child. Like who would go through the trouble to buy a whole birthday cake to a restaurant with gifts and everything just to pretend. I politely told her to bring my child’s cake so that we can celebrate him elsewhere. We will not be returning because if you all would allow a person of such low vibration to serve than I don’t care to spend my hard earned money where I am obviously not welcome. Then she had the nerve to tell us to “don’t forget your cake!” Hmm, i guess she thought she won. But what she doesn’t realize is that oneday she will reap everything she has sewn. Treat people how you would want...
