This place must i said must shut down, detail clean or demolish and rebuild. Sticky everywhere from moment we walked in. The chairs the hibachi round, to the point you just cant hide it, after reading all reviews, i still gave benefit of doubt, maybe they read and extra clean not just wipe with same unsanitized towl and rush customers to sit. The waiter, japanice tall girl, rude rude, was ready to go home body language, very simple order, shrimp, steak and fried Rice with sprite. Flat and water tastes like moldy, yuk. The chef older asian had some life to him. We tried to cheer him up. If you just read him, why do yall keep eating hibachi face. He was exahsted, poor guy. Forgot the lively entertainment. So we just let that go, his food was exactly as his attitude too. You would think server would ever show up we had to get up go get clean utensil, plus sticks. Drinks check, how is food check forget it. The entire round 3 different families kept stairing at each other. Just terrible negative stars is what this place deserves. Its just like we got traffic, boil, poor quality rice, sauces and ginger watered down. Thx god we asked extra well done on meats. Customer be ware. I would never ever step my foot in this place. We simply donated 100 bucks for 2 orders, fried rice and brokly for kids and sprite and water. Other reviewes put dirty pic based on dates i thought it would have been taken care of. Food inspection by health dept is a must at this place. Stay far away, find another hibachi and save your health. I am truefuly writing review to give others a true insite vs. What we went through. This place must read and say wait more them 10 review is about our cleaning and service. Quality of food. You can tell they are trying to penny pinch thier profit margin. But my gosh clean and good service the key to staying in restaurant biz. Eater...
Read moreI wish I could give this experience zero stars. I have eaten at Sakegura at least five times this year (my girlfriend and I come for hibachi with family for almost every birthday) and the service has always been subpar (the food usually makes up for the lack in hospitality). Tonight was not the case, however. We were sat at the last table, very close to the kitchen door and "dish pit" area, and were asked, IN PASSING, what we'd like to drink by someone who I'm not even sure was our server. A different person, a lady who was not in any sort of uniform (maybe owner or manager), brought us our waters and promptly walked away. Ten minutes later, the first person came back to ask if we were ready to order, which of course we were.
The soup was hot and came out almost immediately, but it took thirty minutes for our food (a teriyaki chicken bento box) to come out. I would also like to point out that our sushi, three rolls that took the chefs five minutes to make, sat on the glass bar directly in front of us for about twenty minutes before a third person actually brought it to our table. The food was mediocre at best. Our glasses were empty for the entirety of our visit.
I am extremely disappointed with what little attention we received and how embarrassing it was to feel like a burden to whoever was supposed to be serving us. As I admit that we look young, my girlfriend and I are in our twenties and are both servers - so maybe we hold restaurants and their waitstaff to a higher standard. We will not be returning anytime soon.
Tip to management (or whoever actually cares): if you're going to have a table that close to your dirty dish cart, please prohibit your employees from slamming/dropping/tossing their dirty plates in the bus tubs. It's loud and obnoxious, but above all, INCREDIBLY RUDE TO YOUR PATRONS SITTING EIGHT INCHES...
Read moreWe live very close to this restaurant and my family and I would go here monthly. I have 3 small children - under 6. I don’t have a huge appetite so my husband and I have found that if we share the hibachi chicken with 2 extra fried rice and sushi it’s enough food for us and our 3 little birds. Never has this been an issue. Tonight we went in and immediately, it was like our server was told how to “handle” us. She told me we were required to order a certain amount of dishes. She was rude and flippant. I said we come here all the time and order the same thing. No where on the menu does it say certain # of people have to order certain amount of food nor does it say sharing isn’t allowed. The manager proceeded to come out and say that “sometimes” they have to require people order more food. Um Excuse Me? Require me to spend money on food I don’t need, just because you feel it’s nexessary tonight? I’m not big into waste or take home food and my family and I have found the perfect amount to order where we are all full and don’t have anything wasted. I was baffled at how they treated me, spoke to me and handled me as a customer. As a mom of 3 kids, I will NEVER step food in this restaurant again. Shame on you. If you want to have requirements for people eating in your restaurant then post them and enforce it with every single party that comes into eat, don’t pick me out during a busy night because it works for you. My family and I eat out every weekend and spend quite a bit of money doing so but my money will never go there again. They are rude people. Do yourself a favor and spend your money somewhere that appreciates...
