Zero Stars!!! I am only sharing this experience to expose the unprofessionalism, unpleasant and racism this establishment has exuded to me and my family. First, I would like to start by saying we have patron with this business for quite some time now and have never came close to anything like what I am about to describe...My family and I were celebrating and decided we would eat dinner before heading home and I decided I will order hot tea and Spring Rolls. The tea was not hot and she never brought the Spring Rolls. NO.BIG.DEAL. I simply ASKED if I could have cold iced tea instead. She immediately begin to express what appeared to be frustration or a disapproval of my request because she begin to project her voice while speaking another language and started picking things up and setting things down with a heavy hand on our table. I glanced at my husband (who is half Asian) and he was telling me ALL of the negative RACIST remarks the server was saying...because he speaks the language. IT WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO IGNORE THIS. We begin to lose our appetite at this point...and the entrees hadn't appeared just yet. Our "happy dinner time" was greatly diminishing. As I'm writing this review, I'm starting to feel we should have quietly left at that moment . But we didn't , we quickly paid ticket and proceeded to leave. Before we could take two steps upon exiting, the MANAGER (an older ASIAN man with glasses) approaches us and begin to berate us (in the parking lot) for NOT leaving a tip. Initially, my husband advised him that we didn't feel a tip is deserving nor is this confrontation. WE JUST DIDN'T ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE AND TREATMENT. I, immediately, was taken back because instead of him inquiring about our experience to find out WHY , he became insulting and hostile. He proceeded to tell us "and you wonder why WE look down on your kind" and "we should've went to KFC and Popeyes where OUR KIND belong" ..... I was outraged! He told us to never come back and we agreed as long as people are warned with an honest review. Again, I am only sharing this review to warn others, especially other minorities, which by the way was 75% BLACK dining in that day. We were extremely disappointed with lackluster customer service and negative treatment from this "business". TIPS OR NOT, THIS WAS NOT...
Read moreIm late writing my review, but I was in the mood for Chinese food and got thinking about my most recent visit to this location about three months ago. This used to be my go to spot when I wanted to treat myself. I usually dine alone, but I brought my family here a few times. The service was always top notch and the food was usually very good. The last decent sit down Chinese restaurant in Georgia. However, my experience during my last visit was terrible, so bad that I decided to not come back here. Reading the recent reviews from customers who were also regulars, I see that the customer service and quality of the food has gone down hill. I made the mistake of dining alone as a Black woman late last year, walking into the restaurant right behind a white family. I had no idea the restaurant had renovated and apparently changed ownership, so I was shocked to see the new decor and how cramped the entrance/lobby area was. The family that walked in ahead of me was greeted and seated right away. However, I was ignored and left to stand in the lobby without being acknowledged. I thought with maybe the new layout, the staff simply didn't see me. However, that was no excuse, since usually there was a staff member manning the register at the front. After standing around awkwardly and trying to make myself visible, I took a look at the menu by the register and saw the prices had increased. Annoyed at this point, I left still not being acknowledged. I now see that the restaurant has new management or ownership, so my experience now...
Read moreMy wife and I recently dined at the newly remodeled Mahjong Chinese Restaurant in Snellville, and we were genuinely impressed by the transformation. Under new ownership, the restaurant has been given a fresh, modern facelift—yet, to our delight, it has held on to everything that made it special. In fact, both the food and service seem to have reached even greater heights.
While I usually opt for the tried-and-true cashew chicken (which I still highly recommend), this time I ventured over to their Thai menu and ordered the Pad Thai. It was absolutely outstanding—perfectly balanced flavors, fresh ingredients, and just the right amount of spice. My wife chose the Chicken Satay Skewers paired with a vibrant Mango Salad. Both dishes were beautifully presented and packed with flavor. Our son ordered the Filet Mignon with vegetables, which was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and bursting with savory goodness. Every dish felt like a thoughtfully prepared culinary experience.
Mahjong offers a broad and tempting selection of Asian cuisine, and I have yet to try a dish I didn’t enjoy. The pricing is more than fair for the quality you receive, and the service is consistently warm, attentive, and welcoming. It’s rare these days to leave a restaurant feeling completely satisfied, but we always do here. Whether you're a longtime fan or a first-time visitor, I can't recommend Mahjong enough—it's a true gem...
