I have 3 kiddos with Autism (ages 11, 6 & 3). We were so excited to hear about the Wednesday 10:30am Sensory Friendly showings. We've been planning to come since last Summer. We finally made our 1st showing today and IT IS NOT sensory friendly. It is a regular showing. I went to tell staff & they apologized. Then they slightly dimmed the lights, but the sound was not adjusted at all. No one was walking around, no one was making noise. My 2 older kids are surviving, but my 3 year old is not. The loud sound & extremely judgmental atmosphere isn't working for him. So I'm standing out in the hallway where he can run around, stim, and make little noises without judgment while the 2 older kids watch the movie. Everyone in the theater was staring at him, making comments, and gestures like he was disturbing them. So I decided to take him out to the hallway. Staff should be much more intentional about letting all buyers on Wednesday at 10:30am know that there may be Autistic kids making noise & walking around inside. There should be a sign outside the door of the Wednesday 10:30am showing explaining what sensory friendly means & posters at the counter on Wednesday mornings. For the 10:30am showing, staff should inform buyers at the counter when they buy a ticket. It's only ONE showing per week, so I dont think that's too much to ask. I didn't see any posters, cautions, or info to alert the general public that this was a Sensory Friendly showing. It's like, the parents & autistic kids know it is, but no one else is aware so they expect it to be quiet & a regular movie showing (which I can't blame them for if no one told them). Very embarrassing & inconvenient to have to stand in the hallway when I specifically waited, planned, & came for the only "Autism catered" showing available all week. I actually took off work to bring my kids. Autistic kids deserve to have fun & see a movie too. This was a good idea, but the execution is very poor. Please do better NCG & see thus one through. Thanks...
Read moreWaited weeks after Black Panther was released to avoid the crowds. Decided on a 7:30 PM movie. There was a mother and child in the theater with a 3 or 5 month old baby crying for half of the movie. There was another man with a 3 and a 5 year old kid there. It was too much! From the kids talking to the baby crying, to multiple phones ringing, and people answering their phones in the movies! Good lord, this was the worst experience I have had in years. Went to management and they said they could not stop or tell people with "babies" to not come to the movies. When I said, "what about all the other people who had their experiences ruined", babies are going to cry that is what they do! It's not their fault. the manager said, sorry I don't make the rules. I asked for my money back. I WILL NEVER visit any of their locations EVER, since this is their policy. My conclusion about NCG! It does not matter what location you visit for the movie theater chain; if their policy is to have crying babies and disruptive customer ruin your experience with no recourse, then it is pointless to visit. I have always gone to CinéBistro where it's 21 and over or Phipps Plaza where they run a very professional establishment and I have never had a problem in years. This movie theater NCG is un-monitored, with very poor inexperienced management and terrible policies. So therefore, in the future... even it I have to drive for 45 minutes to get to Phipps or CIneBistro that is what I will be doing. It's just not worth your evening by going somewhere to have your evening ruined by multiple inconsiderate people.
FYI - This is the first time I have ever wrote a review about any company or product, but today I am writing one about my terrible experience with...
Read moreI wanted to leave a review for Josh Miller and his team from my experience this past weekend for my movie premiere event hosted at his venue. My initial booking with the venue was a bit of a hassle but once I decided to reach out to the theater directly, worked with Josh things ran so much more smoothly. My event was truly a success. I have to be honest I was not pleased with the condition of the seating, which would give this review a horrible review BUT I'm giving the 5 to Josh and his team. My event was still a success nonetheless so I am happy about that! Josh worked with me to get as many of the seats in presentable condition but the truth, in my opinion, is that this is a corporate issue. From the moment that I booked my event the seating condition should have been disclosed from their Event Specialist. I understand that their corporate/booking is done in MI and I am booking in GA BUT they still should be aware of the condition of their venues prior to booking events. Truly an area that corporate needs to improve upon.
Now....the good from the event. As mentioned before Josh and his team were amazing! We were having issues setting up the step and repeat. Josh told me not to worry that they would take care of it and they did!!! Everyone was so very nice, incredibly helpful and I really hate that I lost the little piece of paper that had everyone's name that assisted. Please forgive me but know you were absolutely appreciated. I'd certainly use the venue again just for the experience that I was provided! Thank you again Josh and your team for making my movie premiere an...
