Mitchell's Ice Cream (Solon Shop) — Restaurant in Solon

My visit today was on a Sunday at approx 6pm or so. I accidently placed the wrong Sundae order and was willing to eat it anyway, but I thought what the heck I'll just be honest and explain what happened. The staff was nice enough to correct my order and offer the Turtle Sundae I desired which was delicious as usual.

Here is the Plus/Minus on this store: Plus - The ice cream always tastes delicious; the service is fast and excellent every time. Even if the line is long it always moves fast. The temperature in the dining area is always comfy whether it is hot or cold outside. The dining area is always clean. Lots of delicious flavors and speciaty items like shakes and sundaes. This has become my fave ice cream spot in NEO. Minus: Approx 6 unruly, loud, disruptive youth arrived near the end of my visit. I wanted to escort them right out the door, fortunately they didn't stay long. Perhaps this is a new trend in Solon because a similar thing happened in nearby Chick-Fil-A Solon a few weeks ago. Very disappointed. I've been a Mitchell's fan for years. I fell in love with the key lime pie. That's when I knew they had the best ice cream. Especially since it's all fresh , with real ingredients. However it seems that after this new launch, and reopening of stores that the nostalgia hasn't been restored. I ordered my favorite key lime pie ice cream , and decided to get a scoop of banana cream pie as well. That key lime, was a sham. I tasted the artificial sweetener. I was so upset that after the 3rd spoonful I threw it out. Also I see the banana cream pie has been modified. The new edition of marshmallows was not needed. I understand it's susposed to represent the egg whites in banana pudding, but it was not needed. To have to pay $5.25 for 2 scoops and not even finish one scoop is truly a waste. I am happy they offer gluten free, vegan ice cream...

October 2022: I brought the family here after a visit at the Solon Family Health Center. Their first time eating Mitchell's Ice Cream and they liked it.

Pros: Large, clean open inside area to enjoy ice cream year round. They even have paper, crayons, and small shorter tables for the toddlers to use. Friendly staff who were patient with us as we sampled various flavors prior to ordering Good variety of ice cream flavors to choose from.

Cons: Maple Walnut is out of season 😢 Parking during peak times could be an issue, especially in the front parking lot. Additional parking in the rear.

Conclusion: We will most definitely be back for more ice cream. My family loves Mitchell's Ice Cream and recognizes them as a top tier ice cream supplier in the Cleveland area. However, they seem to prefer Honey Hut when...
