You BETTER have a strong stomach, low expectations, and a TON of patience!
One thing 20 years in Fort Mill has taught me is that we're suckers for a new restaurant! We crowd their lines and praise it with reviews. But I promise, these 4-5 star reviews are ALL hype. There are so many just like it, but now closed. There's so much competition coming and going that only those that offer true value remain open. And as excited as I was for Biscuit Belly, this isn't one of them. My entire family agreed it's just more hype.
SERVICE: There is none. It's fast-food style, get in line to order, and fight for a table if busy. Employees are not happy, and just trying to bustle people through. They won't let you wait inside, despite a covered outdoor area being vacant. So we were all outside, with 2 kids... In the rain!
After waiting 15 minutes outside, the employee whose job is to block people from entering let us in, and it took us 20 minutes to get to a register. After ordering, seating was packed, but luckily one small table opened up. Had it not, I don't what they expect you to do... take it to-go I guess 🤷♂️
FOOD: This is the part I don't get. There is NOTHING special about it! It's common items on oversized dry biscuits. I guess it's a size over quality strategy, because the biscuits aren't even as good as places like Cracker Barrel or Bojangles. They're very plain, and so dry they crumble at every bite.
We ordered a variety of biscuits with chicken, bacon, egg and cheese, an attempt at chicken and waffles (but with a biscuit instead of waffles), grits and cheesy tater tots. The eggs had no salt. The bacon was plentiful but EXTREMELY greasy, as was the chicken, which oddly had little flavor or spices.
Replacing waffle and French toast recipes with biscuits was a dumb idea. Sounds interesting on a menu, but tasted like something a college dorm would attempt because they didn't have the right ingredients. Breakfast potatoes were plain. Cheese tots were our favorite item, but once again so greasy that we couldn't even finish 4 of them.
COST: $80 for 2 adults and 2 kids, for 1 coffee, 3 juices, 4 biscuit entrees and 2 sides.
TLDR; CONCLUSION: Needless to say, we left with stomach aches from a lot of greasy food on huge, dry, plain biscuits, and no compelling reason to return. Trust a 2-decade Fort Mill resident, and do NOT fall for the new-venue hype. The older established breakfast spots offer far more variety and quality: Tega Cay Deli - A+ Eggs Up Grill - A+ First Watch - B Famous Toastery - B Biscuit Belly - D
Sadly, we walked in thinking Biscuit Belly would become a family favorite, but left wishing we went to Eggs Up Grill or just...

What we got: *Bonuts - These were fine, enjoyed them with the cream cheese frosting and jam, but I didn't feel the need for them with having biscuits with our meals. We got them for free with a coupon, but they are not something I would order again. Next time, we would like to try other starters. *The Hot Brown - I was really looking forward to this as I love a Kentucky Hot Brown sandwich. This was okay, I do wish there were chopped or sliced tomatoes with it rather than a couple grape tomatoes. I also wish the mornay sauce was more flavorful, compared to others that I have had. My biggest complaint was that the dish was not hot, it was just a luke warm dish, as if all the components had been sitting out for a bit. *Biscuit Bennie - my husband got this and really loved it. I actually loved it too, much more than my dish. It had the flavor I was wanting - the brisket was more flavorful than the turkey and the poblano-tomato sauce added pep to the mornay sauce. I would highly recommend this dish!
We got there a little bit before noon, and it was very busy with the brunch crowd still there, however, we had no problems finding a table and service was quick.
I look forward to going back to trying...
Read moreI had a terrible experience at Biscuit Belly Fort Mill location last week and will not be returning. Upon arrival my husband got in line to order. After I tried to sit down at a table with my mother in law and baby, without a number in hand, a staff member (whom I later found out was the General Manager!) said we could not sit. We had just gotten a high chair and found a table as it was extremely busy. When I was persistent about sitting as we had the baby and my husband was checking us out, he arrogantly said to me “do I need to explain to your husband how the seating system works?” This comment was completely unnecessary and condescending.
When I responded, telling him he certainly wouldn't be explaining anything to my husband, the staff member dismissed me with a snarky "oh, nice eye roll."
This type of attitude is unacceptable especially for his position within that company, and it’s clear that this person has no regard for customer service. Instead of handling the situation with courtesy, he opted to be rude and dismissive. For a business that relies on good customer relationships, I won't be supporting...
