Let me started by prefacing that I do not like to write bad reviews unless their are truly deserving! This is a situation that I think all restaurant goers should hear about before they make the same mistake we did... Don't waste your time!!! The gentleman working at the counter wears a name tag that identifies him as the "OWNER!" I have lots of experience in the retail business and in restaurants as well, being that my parents are former restaurant owners themselves. It was a rainy cool day in Bluffton when my mother and I decided to stop in for a quick sandwich. The was our first experience. There is a drip coffee machine that sits next to the tea urns that is in full working order. We approached the counter and asked the man if he would brew a fresh pot of coffee for us, because there was only a little bit remaining in the pot. We wanted to enjoy a nice cup of coffee with our sandwiches for lunch. He answered with a No! He then went on to explain how he didn't sell coffee, and he only made it for himself in the mornings. For future references, turn the pot off before serving guests and apologize to them explaining it doesn't fully function. That would make you look a lot better to your future guests, not that your are worried about losing money because you won't be able to sell it. He then proceeded to explain to us that he only sold one cup of coffee every two weeks, like we cared! Did he consider the fact that our two cups (which I am estimating would have cost around $5) would have probably paid for the entire pot he would have brewed for us plus his pot he brewed for himself that morning? Drip coffee is CHEAP, sir! He even had the audacity to ask us to walk over to Starbucks and purchase a cup of coffee and then bring it back to dine with him. This man has no BUSINESS etiquette whatsoever! Who in their right mind would come back and give you their hard earned money when you won't accommodate them in the first place? In my opinion, you are supposed to accommodate guests as much as possible with the abundance of restaurants in the Hilton Head/Bluffton area. Guests should leave happy so they will recommend your place to their friends/family. Unfortunately, this restaurant owner does not care about customers leaving happy. I absolutely do not recommend visiting this place. There are much better restaurants...
Read moreI recently placed an order with The Honey Baked Company in Bluffton SC(Order #: 305160403) and was saddened to find that the smoked turkey I ordered was not available at pickup. It was disappointing to hear that several other customers who ordered the smoked turkey were also told they had run out.
While the staff was pleasant and courteous, the company needs a better system to ensure preorders are filled. My family was looking forward to our traditional smoked turkey for dinner, and this experience was unacceptable, especially after waiting 10-15 minutes only to be told there were no smoked turkeys available. Then, after agreeing to take the roasted turkey, it took another 15 minutes to receive it.
I hope The Honey Baked Company can improve their order fulfillment process to prevent this from happening...
Read moreExtremely rude girl at check out. Didn't want to accept my free sandwich card with 10 punches! They punched this card for me recently! She loudly exclaimed ...This isn't our card & we can't accept it! I told her I got it at this store & all the punches! She then loudly exclaimed ...."When....a hundred years ago?!". She then asked the manager & he said he would accept it. She proceeded to complain that he was wishy washy & she was going to accept all cards in the future....blah blah blah! All of this while customers were all around & several employees all just hanging behind the desk. Not sure I will be back! Rudest behaviour ever! It is the last punch card I will complete. I have visited this store many times through the years and her behavior was beyond rude...
