We took the kids and their friends here for ice cream on a Saturday evening. The shop is on the southbound side of 17 in Mt. Pleasant and is easy to see from the road, especially at night.
The shop has two parts; a sandwich shop and an ice cream shop. The sandwich shop looks good but we didn't try it. There was a long line for ice cream and their process is that a single person takes the order for your whole group, so if you have a lot of people (we had 7) then it might take a while for that single person to serve you all especially if you have a complex order. The reason I mention this is that the next server will call the next group and then there are a bunch of people all jammed around the counter trying to see the ice cream and taste their options. It basically gets to be a mess and you are constantly shuffling around people as they try to pay, etc.
Once we finally got our order, which literally took about 15 minutes since the server had to change out some ice cream boxes and got very confused about what we ordered, I finally got my cone which was really poorly assembled and difficult to eat without making a mess. I honestly was disappointed because the server was frustrated and it was 100% avoidable.
But I was the only one complaining. The kids ordered banana splits and sundaes which they thought were great. My cone, despite being messy, was good though I didn't love the flavor I chose. The ice cream was high quality and they have a ton of toppings as well as milkshakes, etc.
I would go back but my preference would be to go with a smaller group (or break a large group up) instead of having one big order.
There is a lot of parking but it does get crowded. A bit of patience is required...
Read moreVery disappointed with this place. Stopped in for late lunch, not at all familiar with the menu. Got interrupted several times trying to place the order, so much so that it was very confusing. Was asked if we wanted combos or would be needing drinks. Of course we needed drinks as we planned to eat inside. Attempted to finish placing the food order and an older female employee walked over and very rudely and LOUDLY announced we had enough fries and tots bc they were huge baskets and we already had enough. While being interrupted, the younger employee taking the order missed one of our sandwiches so I guess we are lucky to have those large portions of fries. We exited and sat in our car for a bit trying to decide what we were doing next as the rain interfered with original plans. One of the employees came out to let us know our payment didn’t go through because apparently the card wasn’t read at the time we paid. The food was decent but the service was less than stellar. Perhaps instead of rudely interrupting people who have never entered the establishment, they should give them a chance to order and maybe a little less loudly announce they feel they’ve ordered...
