Culver’s — Restaurant in South Jordan

My friend had a very disappointing experience at this Culver’s location. Her order was wrong, and she was charged $35.99 — even though the receipt she was given showed $18.75. On top of that, the food she actually received wasn’t even correct.

She went back to get a refund, and instead of properly addressing the issue, they gave her the same incorrect order (with the missing items added) and a $0 receipt. Before she even had a chance to fully explain the situation, the employees walked away.

When she called to clarify, the manager and employees were extremely rude, acting like she was trying to get free food — even though she had all the receipts, including the one showing $18.75 and the card charge for $35.99. One employee in the background even said, “I gave her $35 worth of food, what does she want?” My friend explained (again) that she didn’t want the food — she just wanted the refund for the overcharge, which was $17.24.

They eventually told her to come back for the refund. When she arrived at the drive-thru, an employee rudely told her to come inside instead, shutting the window, and walked away, clearly annoyed. Once inside, a different employee (who was much more polite) finally helped after she had to explain the entire situation again and show all her receipts once more. She left the food behind and walked out, completely frustrated.

This whole experience was unacceptable. If a business makes a mistake, the least they can do is handle it with professionalism and basic respect — not with attitude, accusations, and dismissiveness. The fish was fresh and delicious and could earn a 5 star review on it's own, but I'll explain the things that brought the stars down.

We are fans of the Friday Fish Frys back East, so when we recently learned Culver's had a fish dinner we thought it would be worth a try. The fish was delicious, though it doesn't hold a candle to the beer battered haddock back East. I still would give the fish 5 stars.

One thing that lowered my rating may seem small, but I had studied the dinner out and had expectations it would be as advertised on the website. The website advertised a fresh warm/hot roll with butter. Unfortunately, the roll was hard and cold AND we were not given any butter. We asked about this on our way out and we're told they had butter, but must have forgotten to give it to us even though it was on our delivery slip, but they said they don't warm the rolls. Cold old rolls are not a good accent to this dinner. This withbthe delicious fish would have earned a 4 star review.

However, it is a 3 star review because the floor and many tables were dirty with food, wrappers, trash...

I had to brush the food off the booth seat we chose to sit at after we passed by several dirty tabletops, even though it wasn't too busy as we came in before 5 p.m. Cleanliness or the lack there of, weighs a lot on a customer review.

While I understand many establishments are short staffed, keeping things clean should not fall to the bottom...

The guy who took my about $60 extremely long and complicated order in the drive thru (my 1st time ordering from this location) was so thorough, patient, kind, suggestive, helpful, happy, friendly, detail oriented (ex: triple checking how many cups of honey mustard for my chicken strips) and ensured my order was accurate and just as I wanted before having my pull forward. Both girls at the window were so sweet and friendly, and one of them told me they eat there themselves because the food is that good! They were quick, efficient, and had me pull around the corner.

I expected to wait 20 minutes for my order but waited maybe only 2 minutes. The guy who brought my bags out was also very friendly! Though large and complex, my order was received 100% accurate, every single thing came out perfect. 10/10 taste, temperature, freshness, appearance, preparation, packaging- all of it!

What an unreal restaurant and staff at this South Jordan location. This type of experience from a drive thru is rare and I want this staff to know how much their work ethics are noticed and appreciated.
