As a GM of a restaurant and in the service industry for 20 years, I am so disappointed.
I get it, finding staff in Maine is hard, it’s even harder after COVID. But this is not an excuse. Your managers should be doing more.
Yesterday was my sons birthday. My sister in law called and made a reservation for 10 people. She was so excited someone took our reservation! (we had 6 little kids with us)
I was surprised we were able to get a reservation on a Friday night during the busy season! We went in and there was zero communication between management and staff and told us there was a 25 minute wait. No record of a reservation anywhere. I wasn’t shocked they said they were very busy, so I started counting open menus, seeing the expo board and seeing only 2 cooks on. I sympathized with the staff.
My sister in law was annoyed and so a manager came up to speak to her (kudos) but then I heard the manager say “just because you have a reservation doesn’t necessarily mean we can seat you at that time, that’s how this works. We are busy and can’t get you sat.”
Trying my best not to judge I kept quiet. To the MOD wearing a purple shirt last night, actually a reservation means you will be sat and you would be ready for us. However the fact that you were trying to put your teams mental health in a stressful work environment was applaudable. But at the end of the day if you trained your staff and the communication was there you wouldn’t have had them in a stressful environment to begin with.
The lack of communication within the staff was awful, staff was annoyed at every table they had, bartender was supposedly busy, I counted 35 people in the entire restaurant, server sections did not seem large. The lack of training the team had, lack of communication, and the fact I did not see the manager helping bus tables or run food but just walk around observing was atrocious. Get it together and help out your team!
Our server was so very kind! He did a wonderful job, he was attentive and did his job perfectly. Which is why I am giving the...
Read moreWe recently visited this restaurant while traveling with our children from out of state, and unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing from the moment we arrived. Upon pulling into the lot, the run-down appearance of the building gave us pause, but with hungry kids and limited options, we decided to give it a try.
The interior was dark and uninviting, which should have been another red flag. Our server, Millie, was initially friendly and upbeat, but things quickly went downhill. She brought over a drink from the bar that was visibly overflowing—spilling down her hands, onto the table, and all over my 4-year-old daughter’s coloring book, drenching it in what appeared to be an espresso martini. It was completely inappropriate and unsanitary.
I immediately asked to speak with a manager, hoping for a professional response. While the drink was removed from our bill and a dessert was offered, there was no sincere apology or accountability from the server or the bartender—just finger-pointing. What was even more upsetting was watching two staff members clearly talking about our table for the next 15 minutes, making our family feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.
As for the food, it was equally disappointing. Every chicken dish we ordered was overcooked. The garlic Parmesan wings, which should have been tossed in sauce, came out dry with an overwhelming pile of raw minced garlic dumped on top.
Our server’s demeanor changed entirely after the drink incident—becoming cold and disengaged rather than attempting to salvage the experience.
Overall, between the food, the atmosphere, and the lack of professionalism, this was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had. Whether you’re local or visiting, I would strongly recommend choosing a different spot. This one simply isn’t worth your...
Read moreFrom start to finish this has to be one of, if not, the worst dining experiences I have ever had. I don't often leave negative reviews but this place for sure deserves it. It was one thing after another. I walked in and was brought to a table and told they weren't sure if it was cleaned or not and asked if I would like them to wash it. It looked clean so I elected to just sit down. Our server came to us and got us beverages and said he would be right back to get our food order. At least 20 minutes went by before I went to ask if anybody wanted to take our order. We ordered our food and waited for what felt like an eternity for our apps to come out. When they arrived they weren't what we ordered. No apologies, just " I heard wings" I just accepted them and moved on. The server grabbed our drink and never brought back a new one and never checked on us. About 15 minutes later entrees came out. Our burgers were burnt, our fries were cold and stale. I asked for the drink they took and they brought a new one with no straw. I had to ask for silverware for a salad that was ordered in which my fiancée bit into a romaine lettuce core. We opened the silverware they brought and it was stuck to the napkin by food that was never washed off. (See pic) The pizza was not hot and was very dry and flakey. Every single part of this visit was messed up. It is almost comical but has me ticked off as I drove away feeling like I got robbed with a $130 bill. I did still leave a $10 tip. It would have have been a $40 tip. I am a very good tipper and this is the first time I have tipped such a small percentage but wanted to get my point across. There was a couple sitting behind us that had complained about there visit as well. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS...
